Interesting, because the assistant coach (not Cameron) was on after the game and talked about how the team was pushing for that 4th goal a little too hard which he wasn't crazy about.

The Leafs had several opportunities where they found themselves behind our D, as a result of them being up in the play when they didn't need to be. I assume thats what Jerrard is referring to.

Johnson's style reminds me of Luongo in his prime. Very technical, big in the net and calm, with mechanical athleticism. Always preferred the Finnish athletic style but that's thanks to Kipper. Johnson has such a calming influence on the team.

Thanks well I was actually at the game and did you read my post? I didn't say the Leafs didn't have more scoring chances. I said there is no way they had 31 scoring chances. The way they measure a scoring chance is flawed. I don't care how they interpret it, the Leafs didn't have 31 chances to score.

You could see that the Flames legs were getting heavier in the third period, after coming home from a 6 games in 9 night brutal road trip, they were going to run out of gas at some point.

Isn't there a Dec. 1 signing rule in order to be eligible to play during that season?

that's only for RFAs that were qualified by their team.

Yeah I think Ramo would just have to clear waivers after he signs.

I hope they do. Ramo is a decent backup with crazy hair and funny interviews, which is what this league needs.

He shouldn't - he wasn't playing in Europe, he was injured without a contract.
Someone else feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though. It's entirety possible.

You know I think you are right. I am thinking of the Nabakov signing with Detroit and then picked up the NYI. You are right he was playing in Europe at the time.

I can't comment on the accuracy of exactly 31 chances because somebody paid to do these stats came up with that but I don't think that's far fetched at all as the Leafs dominated at times 5 on 5 and on their powerplays.

Like I said goaltending was the difference. One team's goaltender let in three goals on a small handful of scoring chances and the other team's goaltender allowed none on a lot of scoring chances.

31 chances? pretty lose with what a scoring chance is...there were a handful I was actually worried might end up in the net.
Toronto is lucky it was only 3-0 in the first 5 minutes...easily could have been four or five.
Also, goaltender is part of the team, no need to apologize for having a good one.

The best part of the ATL was everyone trying to overtly jinx Johnson´s shutout

Put the game on NHL TV this morning. Went to fast forward past the anthem. When the picture started it was 2-0.
