Watching Leafs Oilers right now, loads of no good, gotta say McJesus just got one of the more phantom assists I've ever seen.

Bwahahah, another classic Oilers goal against.

Dumb giveaway up the middle, 2-on-1 against in close.

Anyone else see bob Nicholson during the 2nd intermission talk about the tournament? Just said something like getting a chance to see the next number one draft pick during this tournament. Yep just what the oilers need. That's all this tournament is. Jesus. Classic E=NG

Rob Tychkowski Verified account ‏@Sun_Tychkowski Nice rink, but the Oilers are about to fall below .500 in it.

As expected, things are righting themselves.

Oilers are now only 2 points ahead of 9th in the West. Few more games should see them on the outside looking in.

As others have noted.....it IS December soon so the Oilers season should be ending shortly.

Since going 7-1 to start the season, the Oil have 5 wins in next (last) 16 games.

You tend not to notice because they still stink but Chiarelli has turned over a lot of that roster. There's no doubt that MacT brought in some awful deals over the years but that Lucic one will probably end up the worst in the long run and that was all Chiarelli.

I'd like to know how many times McDavid's name was uttered during the game on Sportsnet? I only watched a few minutes in the third when they were losing by two goals on home ice to the Leafs, and they could not say his name often enough. Are they paid each time they say his name? So pathetic.

Yeah but Chia hasn't exactly done a great job of turning over the roster.

About the only good move that he made was getting Talbot who was one of the two reasons why the Oilers started out 7-1.

the Reinhart trade was almost the height of his bumbling incompetance, until he shelled out for Lucic who's going to be like a safe tied around the next of a scuba diver.

I said when the Oilers were winning that they were like the Flames under Gilbert they started hot because they were all enthusiastic "Things are going to be different" they said. They got rid of Hall for Larsson (another poor value trade). The dressing room is fixed, they said. T-Mac was suddenly not only the coach of the year, but according to the Oilers media arm, the coach of the century.

Vroom Vroom said the Oilers here comes the bus.

But the engine is still absolutely crappy, in the last 10 they've allowed 28 and scored 27 but 16 of those goals game in three games.

T-Mac is still a befuddled coach, even at the height of their hot start they were defensively all over the place but Talbot bailed them out, and this is just going towards the typical in T-Mac in that he can't motivate teams for very long. He can't get consistant efforts out of teams at all.

Right now its still the same spoiled locker room where their battle cry is "Don't worry about it boys, Conner's got it" and he does, he's done a great job as a one man team, but everyone else in that rotten core is in vacation mode already.

Once again the big part of their core Eberle, RNH and Draisaitl have been absolutely terrible without the puck. Nurse has made some strides, but I watch him and he's more Dennis Gauthier then Dion Phaneuf and that's not a good thing. JP looks completely unready for the NHL.

This is the same old team with the big difference being they fumbled into a super star player.

This Oilers team's window is this year and next year because when they have to sign McDavid to a premium and Nurse to a premium and Draisatl to a premium at the end of this year or in other words probably add about $22 million for three players on top of that Lucic contract, well the team that has no depth and not much coming up from the farm is going to get even thinner as players like RNH and Eberle are going to become cap casualties.

But we'll have McDavid Oiler fans scream nasally with a booger hanging from one well picked nostril.

Yeah you will, and that's all you'll have.

Chia as a GM is a failure
T-MAC as a coach is starting to look like a failure
they have a thin organization depth which is a failure
They're still bad defensively failure

Within 2 years the Oilers are going to have to try to sell another rebuild of this team to their fans, because their strategy of stockpiling high draft picks is bout to backfire on them in a big way.
