As much as we all like to pretend that McDavid isn't all he's cracked up to be, he kind of proves he is almost every night.
And he just got a penalty!

McDavid is not "all he's cracked up to be": he is regularly touted to be the best player since Wayne Gretzky, and he most certainly is not.
A number of us are just sick and tired of the completely unnecessary, over-the-top 24-hour/day McDavid media circus.

Jordan Eberle is so bad. When he's not scoring highlight reel goals he's completely useless.

He's terrible. He'll probably wake up when the oilers are bottom five and the pressure is off.
For a "shooter" he doesnt do much shooting these days.

Okay fair enough. Comparisons to Gretzky are obviously absurd and deserve to have eyes rolled at them, and I do, but he's clearly on his way to being the best player in the league.
The Flames are going to have to deal with him for years, and it would be nice to have someone throw him off his game.
Maybe I don't pay enough attention to league-wide hockey media so I don't see the 24-hour/day McDavid media circus.
It's always excruciating watching an Oilers broadcast (including that little bit they just had about how the WSJ is here to bring him to the non-sport fan masses, which is clearly nonsense) but otherwise I guess I don't see it.

They don't seem to care if the Oilers win or lose as long as McDavid does some highlight reel stuff.

Maybe it's just me, but if my player celebrated a goal as hard as McDavid did when the team was down 4-1 in the 3rd I'd be pretty embarrassed.

Mcdavid is really one of the only reasons to watch at this point. Team is trash. Pure filth.

In the end, McDavid is just one player. The Flames will be fine, and it will not be much different for them than having to deal with Crosby, Ovechkin, Benn, P. Kane, or any number of high impact NHL stars.

For sure. He's good but saying he's the next Crosby has to stop. I see him more as a Giroux, (skill wise not play type) helluva player for sure but not "generational"

Oilers lose 4-2 and Principe is asking Rielly post-game why McDavid is so good

My thoughts exactly. Every OOT when the oilers play turns into a mcdavid debate.

Anyone denying that McDavid isn't the best player in the world not named Crosby is fooling themselves.
The whining and diving comments are spot on, but saying he's not generational is a bit silly if you ask me.

I am incapable of saying positive things about McDavid and the Oilers.

I don't know why it bothers me when on every post game interview with the opposition they have to bring up McDavid. You won 4 -2 but how about those two points by McDavid?
