You think so?
I'm not sure any plans change whether or not oil is 40 or 50 in the short term. I'm don't know of anyone using strip pricing with much upside.

It's all about ego. I mean the math is simple for the Saudi's;
9.5mbpd @ ~$35 = $332.5
8.5mbpd @~$55 = $467.5
But, as you say, that math has been in place for awhile now.....

I'm just using past performance to take a guess at what is going to happen with OPEC. And even If they do agree to a production cut(which is doubtful), past performance will show that they are all a bunch of liars and no one will actually cut production. So whatever boost may happen with the markets, it's still based on a fantasy.

If there is no cut we will likely revisit 30s again, I would expect companies to trim again if they kick the can down the road on spending.

If he tears up the nuclear agreement that would remove 800-1M bpd. Not quite enough to balance things but gets us pretty close. Hard to know if he'll follow through or not.

That's assuming they don't fly solo on sanctions this time, which I think they will. Europe isn't going to rejoin sanctions because the new temperamental president has a tantrum and tears up an agreement that was signed and is being acted upon in good faith.

Yeah, I have a bunch of money sitting on the sidelines, and I really wonder if I should take a chance that we get good news tomorrow. When would that announcement come out of the OPEC meeting?

Hard to say how long the horse trading goes on. We might know before the market opens or it could drag on into the evening in Vienna.
