Cosmo Article On Female Flames Fans - Calgarypuck Forums - The Unofficial Calgary Flames Fan Community

I was on an airplane this morning and grabbed a copy of Cosmpolitan magazine to kill some time. There was an article in the magazine about how females across Canada/the USA like to bare their breasts in support of sports or other events. One of the examples that was given was the Calgary Flames fans during the Cup Finals. They even had a pic of some female fans (no, not topless), but dressed in sports bras that had Calgary Flames logos on them. It's not worth buying the magazine for the article, but sitting on a plane from San Jose to Anaheim and reading Cosmo, it was interesting to see the Flames being used as the main sports example of females baring their breasts. I didnt live in Alberta that year...so I didnt witness it, but for it to be mentioned in Cosmopolitan magazine (they compared it to Florida Spring Breaks where women run around topless like its the norm).....

Yeah, hearing about women flashing on the red mile really made me proud to be a female Flames fan, let me tell ya...

What issue is it by the way, the newest one with Bilson on the cover?

Its on page 200 of the October 2006 issue, with Aguilera on the cover....

My bro was sayin that the Oilers female fans were just as bad last year, with the chants "Oilers in Six, show your ****"....correct me if Im wrong.

Yup. Guess where they got that from. They couldn't steal "shirts off for Kipprusoff" though.

i dont know, but the psychologist that they quoted in the article was from calgary, so thats why the female flames fans got the coverage and the pictures as opposed to the oilers fans on whyte....

Incorrect. We were all assured prior to the Oilers making the playoffs that that would never happen. Oiler females fans are too classy and it would never happen.

Even though there is proof, I take them on their word.

You shoulda been on the mile and how uncomfortable that was for female Flames fans.... All because a few hoes couldn't keep their shirts on.

I can imagine it was horrible for girls that didn't want to do it. I went to a concert in Toronto where a couple girls did it. It was probably one of the most uncomfortable moments of my life, it was even a little scary.
