In no Universe does Tara warrant her own episode.

I actually forgot she left

4 of 6 have been fillers in my opinion. I'm seriously about done with this show.

What a horrible day. Stamps, Flames and then recorded this drivel? Absolutely nothing good happened today.

Nothing wrong with that episode. Some more character development, we meet some interesting new people and the sand walker thing was pretty terrific.

Unlike Westworld, which I actually look forward to watching, this one has become more of a chore. Its been on the decline since roughly S5, but its getting close to the point where I tune out. Just not compelling writing. Fear the Walking Dead is even worse.

This is a season for the die hard comic book fans but as i said above, those of us who are not will have trouble.

The episode was a slog simply because I didn't really have any vested interest in either of the main group characters showcased. I was pretty frustrated after the end, and switched over to Westworld in a bit of a huff.
However, with a night and morning to think on it, I'm better with the episode. Was it compelling TV? Not really, but I have a different appreciation for the Tara character. I actually like her now. Rarely is TWD bold enough to have a throwaway sequence, so when Tara eyed the arsenal and noticed every able-bodied adult was able to handle a weapon (with weaponry left over and then some), it's pretty clear this group is going to factor into the eventual battle with the Saviors.
They are moving pieces around for what is shaping up to be a slow build to the Saviors downfall. I actually think that may be the pinnacle of the show and they end on that note. Segmented civilizations banding together to over throw the Savior Empire. With the way they have spread out and diversified the cast, it's clear this is going to be at least a 2 season thing.

I am in the minority, but I really enjoyed the episode.
I thought Tara was good in the episode, and it was one with a fair amount of humour which is different for this show.
I agree that we will see this group again.

Seems like a few people should just stick to WWE cause the story lines are easier to follow.
This definitely was not a filler episode. Tara comes across a community that has an abundance of fish...hmmm maybe they want to trade some fish for something. They also have an abundance of guns, they were decimated by the Saviours, and the Saviours have lost track of them...hmmm maybe they can help with an attack.
I am guessing now that Tara has returned to Alexandria to find Denise, Glenn, & Abraham dead she'll return to Oceanside and convince them to rise up against Negan and/or join them.
The boat she hides in is the same boat in the opening credits when her name pops up...hmmm wonder what's up with that?

It's definitely one of the pieces Alexandria needs to rebel against Negan...they need guns. Like you said, this episode shows where they find guns. Much better way of doing it than having them just come across a bunch of them.... or perhaps they could build Ewok style traps all over the forest.

All I could think of the whole episode was the Family Guy episode about Meg where at the beginning Peter looks at the camera and says something like "ya it's a Meg episode, feel free to change the channel"
Tara is the Meg of TWD

Also, the actress still has all her baby weight on, so it's a tough sell that she's been scavenging for food and starving all this time.

kinda funny how they had an almost comically difficult time hiding the real life pregnancies of Tara and Sasha (dark clothing, torso-up shots, Austin Powers-style objects conveniently in front of belly)...and then Maggie, the one girl that's actually supposed to be pregnant right now, is probably the skinniest woman in the entire cast.

Thanks for this. I was wondering why I didn't remember her being so...endowed.

Thanks for the shot, lol. I am not looking for guns blazing and non stop action. But I really found that spending an entire episode on a character that I personally feel is weak, including the cheesy acting of that character was filler. I found myself hoping that they would hit the mark with one of their numerous shots (including shotguns, lol) or take her out while she was obviously lying for no good reason. I found her attempts at humor really lame.
I am fine with them looking for a way to piece together alternate, potentially like minded groups for an ultimate payoff later, but surely they could have done that without dedicating an entire episode on a weak fringe character to do it. I found it annoying but obviously many here may disagree. I suppose they saved a ton of dough using her for an entire episode though. Yay for prudence I suppose.

I'm not sure why one of the most popular shows on TV needs to be concerned with saving money by putting third tier characters out there for an entire episode, though.

I usually am fine with slower episodes to establish plots and character and stuff, but unless the plan is to replace Rick with Tara or she ends up leader of the Saviours even I question what the point of that was. You don't need a whole episode to introduce more eventual allies, especially when establishing so many plot lines makes it harder to do each one justice, not easier.
