That was a tough catch, receivers were dropping balls all night. Dumb coaching.

Feel sorry for all you Stamp fans. But they never gave up. Must be tough to swallow this one.

I didn't care who won, but I'm happy as I was wanting Burris to win. Stamps will get there chance again as soon as next year don't worry. They are a good team. Plus it's only 9 teams so the odds are a team with the talent Calgary has to be in their favour to make the final.

They had it! Even after all the terrible football they'd played they gutted it out and came back and had it and couldn't punch it in from the TWO!

I'm so ####ing sick of my useless sports teams.

I waste so much time and energy on this crap and get endless heartbreak and bitter disappointment over and over again. I wish I'd grown up oblivious to this crap. Even when my team is the odds on favourite they can't get the job done when they should.

Buckley scored a TD on a similar play earlier in the game. There was nothing wrong with running a play that had been sucessful for you earlier.

Nope...I always say go for it. OT setup is kinda a gimmick

If you can't get 1 yard per down busting it up the middle in the CFL so be it, probably deserve to lose

I was shocked when they didn't give the ball to Messam and will be quite interested to hear why Dickenson didn't.

The OT setup is a joke. Do the coin toss, kick the ball and let the first team that scores be the winner.

But they didn't need one yard. Because of Dickenson trying to be cute (just like Pete Carroll) on second down from the two, they took a one yard loss and were left with third and goal from the three.

At the very least you plunge Buckley in twice and hope to get a yard each time. Instead, Buckley was going off-tackle looking to throw, and got tripped up for a loss. That's on Dickenson IMO.

I am wondering about the Messam thing but I disagree with you on the OT setup. I think that's what it makes it so exciting. Just look at tonight Ottawa scored and missed a 2-point convert. Stamps needed to score a TD and a 2-point convert and they have to try it 3 downs to get the first down. Otherwise it is like the NFL that a team just need a FG and ballgame is over.

That's no longer the rule FYI.

I don't like that a shootout type OT decides the league championship

very disapointing to see the team play that poorly. that d in the 1st half looked like the riders d in the 1st half of the year. nice to see them not give up and i agree, pound messam up the middle. make them stop your best. tough game

You can't let the opposing QB throw for over 460 yards and expect to win any games.

Pleased for Henry Burris.

Disappointed for Hufnagel, Dickenson and the Stamps. Good game. Entertaining.

Agreed. Bizarre not to give your 250+ pound back the ball after he rumbled for 8 yards the play before. Coaches always like to over analyze things. See Pete Carroll in the Super Bowl not handing it off to Lynch.

This is not the NFL OT rules where the first team to score a TD wins. In the CFL/NCAA, the OT is different. If you win the coin toss, you always defer so you know what your opponent does first. If Ottawa got a FG, than all Calgary needed to win was a TD. I don't blame them for deferring at all as Ottawa would have done the same.

Not a CFL guy but I did watch this game hoping the Stamps would win. Tough to see a team that finished 1 game below .500 beat a team that only lost 2 games all year. You got to give credit to Calgary for battling back but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Happy for Burris. Always liked that guy.

Horrendous game by Mitchell and the defence did them in, too bad as they were the class of the league...

shows how Ottawa really isnt that great. mitchell plays worst game in year and d gives up 460 yards passing and they had a chance to win. Give credit to Ottawa, they made a play when they needed to.

As disappointed as I am, that was a hell of a catch by Jackson to win it. Summed the game up well. Full marks to Ottawa.

It always stings to lose the final game of the season, but kudos to Ottawa on a well played game, Henry certainly cemented his hall of fame credentials tonight.

Sad and disappointed. Hell of an entertaining game though. My thoughts:

1) OK let's get the obvious one out of the way. You let your ****ing MOP give the ball to your ****ing leading rusher MOC there. The guy was beasting that whole drive. Especially when you gave the D that look for the third time after the earlier Buckley roll out and the jet sweep a little later. And if Messam came up short I give it to him again for the win.

2) Bo-Levi really missed McDaniel. The guy looked lost trying the go downfield all game. Jorden tried to fill in but they just weren't on the same page. Didn't hate the shot he took on the first play of overtime. Perfect throw. Jorden just couldn't squeeze it.

3) Bo-Levi trying to score 10 points all at once in the first half with too terrible many deep balls. He was moving the sticks just fine when he kept it to basic 10-15 yard football. The resulting turnovers meant an already unprepared D spent too much time on the field in the first half and got gassed. Undisciplined forcing it allowed them to get too far ahead.

4) The face paint. As soon as I saw that I realized our defense came in cocky instead of focused. And they laid an egg in the first half. Credit to Burris for shredding them with some excellent precision but that wasn't the D we saw all season. They beat themselves in the first half and that's why we lost the game.

5) Deja vu from yesterday. Chance to win it from about 30 yards out and our boys kept trying to do it all in one play and failed disappointingly.

First off extremely entertaining game. Some extremely clutch moments and some total meltdowns.

I think not having Messam run the ball into the end zone at the end was ridiculous. You're putting the ball in a rookie QBs hands in the biggest moment of the biggest game of the season. You win or you lose with your best players on the field. Not with Messam and Bo Levi on the sidelines.

Deferring to the Redblacks was a mistake too. I didn't understand that. The Stamps D had been getting beat all game.

Still, after the multiple turnovers, the missed extra point, the missed opportunity in the red zone at the end, the Stamps STILL had a chance to win that game and they didn't.

Burris was unstoppable in the first half of that game. Hats off to the Redblacks.

That was an entertaining game of football.
