My only real point of personal reference is a female friend of mine from Cuba who now lives in Florida who's opinion I trust. Her and her family have put together an impromptu party today to celebrate.
Edit: Her facebook today has numerous links to others celebrating.
2nd Edit: She has also been using the hashtag: "bouttime"

I can understand the mixed feelings, some Cubans loved Castro because he had that 'Bigger than Life' personality and there is an inherent dislike of Americans that he leaned on heavily.
But at the same time the man was an unapologetic tyrant with all of the distaste and misdeeds that go along with being a tyrant.
If anything people should be glad that this chapter in Cuban history has come to a close and hopefully some sort of progress can now be made.

Trudeau just wants to be seen as ultra-progressive leader. He wants the support of as many people as he can get, and doesn't want to be seen that he's offending somebody. After all, it is [current year].
Sometimes it leads to some stupid statements like this.
