tonight, I received a notification on my phone about a momentous sports event. flames updates and momentous events are the only things I allow because otherwise the phone would never stop buzzing. the event? connor mcglorious' latest 10th goal. yes really. must be a magic goal, I figured...
at the end of the flames game tonight, they cut to sportsnet hockey central. I assumed that there was some connection between the two feeds required...snet being snet. do we get the goals from the flames game...being only 3 in total? no, we get "bring you up to speed on oilers game" and we get the afore mentioned goal and the other ones. yes, a breakaway goal but no big deal on the goal. i'll be reviewing my notification settings in the morning. signal connected and the first thing they do? show the stupid no good goal again. seconds after the first time. come on sportsnet, "clean it up".

You're really going to be choked when he scores his next one and SNET sends you a notification for the highlight and it's titled "This one goes to eleven".
I'll show myself out.

McDavid and Talbot are truly the pole that hold up that tent. The lipstick on the pig. And that team never deserved the former after horribly mishandling 2/3 first overalls they were generously awarded prior to him.
You can imagine he was trying to dodge a hit? I wouldnt take punishment for the Edmonton Oilers either, playing for the Edmonton Oilers is punishment enough.
But its kind of a wussy move.
It actually looked almost more like a dive...like he was anticipating the hit and was going to make it look spectacular to draw a penalty but the hit never came and he winds up doing a Lambeau Leap into the Arizona bench looking like a complete idiot.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

We all hear quite a bit about how it wouldn't even be close IF Lemieux and Orr could have stayed healthy. Lemieux'S health was out of his control at times but none the less was unable to remain healthy. Orr was unable too as well.
Gretzky was targeted every game. He retired due to back troubles but those health issues were caused by taking a ton of physical punishment.
He managed to do what he did while taking that abuse and remaining the best in the game year in and year out.
The fact he managed to stay healthy while being the premier player in the world for so many years, says to me he is the best of all time.
From the game last night. I think he was trying to channel his inner kesler...or burrows...either way, ridiculous and embarassing. And the complaining to the ref after made it worse.

He was cut off and was going to go crashing into the bench head over heels if he didn't jump. Reckless player.
