The good thing about that is, when the teams knows the goaltender will hold up his ends of things its much, much easier for the guys to put things together in front of him. And for the team's overall confidence, particularly the offensively gifted d-men that want to join the rush and take the odd chance.. they'll feel safer to go out and play to their strengths.

I mean hell, look what Price does for the Habs.

We haven't had that kind of goaltending in years. I'll take that over the three headed monster we had last year.

I'll take that over Elliott this year.

I thought he played a strong, but unspectacular game.

Of the three guys on that line, I thought Brouwer was by far the most ineffective.

Chad Johnson
7-3-1
1.98 GAA
.928 SV%

Pretty shocking stats & record, relative to our other guy.

Really liking Ferland's game this year. Last year he seemed to be trying too hard, making risky plays and blind drop passes that got him into trouble. This year, he is keeping it simpler, moving the puck forward, using his speed well, and forechecking really well.

Him and Hathaway are a handful. They're fun to watch and they give their team energy.

Johnson 9.22 Sv% is good for 13th in the NHL maybe the Flames are not so terrible just needed above average goaltending.

I was waiting to see some Hathaway love / guy has added a lot of energy to the lineup and literally forced whoever he is playing with to get involved.

If they can take at least one of the final two I'll be very happy with this road trip.

If Johnson starts vs. Philly, it's one they should have a good chance in.

Hate to coulda, woulda, shoulda but if Elliott was even barely average in his starts, say 4-7-1, we'd have a record of 11-10-2 and would be 3rd in the division, one point from the lead. Not meant to pile on Elliott too much, the team has left him out to dry a few times, but just goes to show you having both your goalies play decent is a huge help.
