How the F does Hamilton not get out on the PP?
In case there was any doubt this game shows we have the worst coaching staff in the league and it's not close

Special teams are literally the reason this team is not in a playoff spot.

Why?
This is the same team as last year that is losing 3-2 instead of 5-3.

Both Jerrard and Cameron can be shown the door by Christmastime.

Like Gaudreau last year, he's slowly becoming the only reason I tune in.

The worst special teams in the league gets you a good shot at pick #1, not a playoff spot.
Until they fix it there's not much to do but watch and get frustrated.

Useless penalty kill. Idiotic power play.
Getting really sick of brodie's play on the pp. He isn't a pp qb and he has no shot.
This team sucks.

Bloody figures that we're the team the NHL finally calls for one of those little slashes to the hands. Yes, it should be a penalty - and it had better be a penalty against all 30 teams going forward, not just the one with Wideman on the roster - but more than a little frustrating that this effing league only started taking it seriously after our star player was injured.

God our PP is awful. How is Tkachuk the only guy who seems to look like he has any desire to score on the PP? Infuriating to say the least.

So how was the second period? Good discipline? Good special teams play?

The Flames are a fine team 5 on 5, enough to be a playoff team.
But special teams kill us so much that it makes this one of the worst teams in the league

There really is no excuse for the special teams to be this bad. We can blame the refs all we want but a good team would use that to band together and rise above the situation.
Maybe they do and play a terrific third. But otherwise, the coaching staffs needs to answer for it

It looked like a clear interference to me. Puck was no where close deep in the zone and Brouwer went right to him and tied him up, regardless if he falls or not, that's clear interference.
First one, yeahhhhhh I'm like the good chunk of CP and sensitive/biased towards slashes at the moment. I guess it is a call once in a while.

Monahan has went from invisible to noticeably terrible. It's no coincidence that both Bennett and Brouwer have went silent since being "promoted" to his line.

The team played pretty good in the first period until they started to take these stupid penalties which they can never recover. With 5-5 it was fairly even but once on a PK situation the meltdown starts. Is that the earthquake from Japan shaking the confidence of our players ?

The 2nd Brouwer penalty was baffling.
As MMF mentioned, Brouwer's stick is vaguely in the Sabres' midsection and his feet give out in spectacular fashion.
