I highly disagree, I have a friend that works for them and I always get friends and family discount(cost +5%) and the warranty becomes in store credit if you don't make any claims. It must just be the fact I am dealing with a friend and all of your bartering skills are terrible? I dunno what else I can say.

I don't even think that Visions is an authorized Dyson dealer so people who purchase those vacuums could be without a warranty.

Well personally, I don't like my routine electronics purchases being made into car buying experiences. Something that I absolutely loathe. Nothing says fun like arguing with a guy over the price of a vacuum. What a great way to spend time.

What is the point of commission sales on electronics anymore?

To buck the anti-Visions crowd,

Why? If you can actually get the TV cheaper through Visions via your friend, why would you avoid Visions?

I'm certainly not a fan of them, and my buying local ends at ski and bike shops, but for electronics, who cares? A lower price is a lower price. If you already have your contact there, go in, pay for it, walk out.

I get hating on the store for someone who wants to go in and ask questions and haggle and make their purchasing decision on what the salesmen says is the better TV, but you already have the TV you want in mind. After that it's a simple transaction.

When Panasonic discontinued their plasma line, Visions had a handful left and were selling them BNIB cheaper than MemEx were selling floor models for. I went in, didn't wait for the sales pitch, said I wanted that TV, declined the warranty, bought it, and walked out.

The whole 'sales' thing there is no better or worse than Canadian Tire (actually Canadian Tire is much worse, IMO) or as Corsi pointed out, Amazon.

If you know what you want and do some research on the price, I don't really see an issue with Visions. But if it's worth more money to buy elsewhere, have at it.

^Good call on the plasmas. They're still catching up to that picture 2-3 years later.

Visions might be pushy, but they're willing to move on prices more than anyone. And they show their cards wayyyyy to early in the conversation.

Yes, they move their prices to what everyone else is charging already.

I'm not getting in cheaper through my friend...that is my point. Their regular and sale prices are higher than competing retailers.

Even with my friends and family discount (cost + 5%), for some TV's they are still more expensive and for other models they are at par.

Make sure you do your research

Visions is priced well on occasion, and they will price match. Research before shopping always helps.

The commissioned staff at Visions doesn't bother me. They're just doing their jobs. In my experience their product knowledge is on average better that the drones that you'll find at a certain non-commission electronics store.

Default Black Friday (Week) 2016 Deals

IMO, long gone are the days where product knowledge matters. In fact, I wouldn't even trust anything an employee is telling me. Not because they're untrustworthy, but I can do better research before I buy something than what they'll provide me with.

That said, I also think where you go to buy something is irrelevant. Do research, find the best price, buy what you want.

Ah, I read it as you could get it cheaper at Visions. Nothing to see here.

The London Drugs preview flyer came out today. There are some decent deals in here. Most of the items don't seem to actually be on their website (yet?)

If anyone is interested in an InstantPot

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...K6Y9EEQB&psc=1

I bought one a while ago although it was the DUO for slightly more, and my family loves it. My mom got one and makes yogurt, and we can make things super fast. It has great reviews, everyone I know that's used it ended up getting it for themselves. I think at $85 dollars it's a steal.

You are actually better off going to Visions. They have a price match policy. They will beat it by 15% of the price difference. So basically you could save another $30 to bring the price down to $968.00.

Bestbuy does 10% of the difference so you could save $20.00 going there instead.

Plus, red Thursday is clearly just copping style from ruby Tuesday.
