I turn 29 in a few weeks and the flames play the stars. Either I'll end up drunk and happy or drunk.

Looks like Ferland has figured out he can be physical without taking runs. His hits these last few games have all been with him skating under control, but using his size and leverage. He's a big boy and doesn't need a run to throw a hard check.

Great to see.

Ferland is very underrated still when it comes to the work with and without the puck.

I love his game, and his chemistry with Hathaway and Freddie.

Great day for Calgary sports fans. Stamps blow out the Lions, and the Flames take 2 points out of Detroit. Good stuff all around!

Red Wings got away with a loooot tonight.

Refs were also sorta lacks on the Flames after the first period too. However, it shows inconsistency from one game to the next, as in most other games some of those would've been called. Or maybe just a consistency for Wings games at the Joe?

Figures that a game played mostly 5 on 5 we would fare well in.

Regardless, happy to get the win. Hamilton looking like the good Dougie tonight. Tkachuk and Shinkaruk were great. The Chad did good - some of the most consistent individual goaltending in Flames uniform I've seen in some time. He's not elite, but he's very solid. No panic and you don't feel that way watching him face high danger shots either.

Just want to see Giordano and Brodie start to be difference makers like Hamilton was tonight. Particularly the captain. Where's that 20-goal wrister at?

Oh and grats to Hathaway! Looks better than Vey and the other Hamilton imo.

Anybody remember off the top of their head where the Flames stood after 20 games last year?

Wes Gilbertson @WesGilbertson

#Flames RW Garnet Hathaway getting chirped in locker-room for his first goal 'celebration.' Didn't know it was in, was looking for rebound.
