You can absolutely see what the Flames scouts were talking about in terms of Tkachuk being the best player in the draft below the hashmarks. That onetouch pass into the slot from below the goalline was beautiful.

Solid period minus the goal.
Thought we contained the top Chicago players

Backlund Bennett Frolik Brouwer Monahan and Tkachuk are the only forwards that should be on the PP.

Damn Johnson has such a Kiprusoff-like demeanour. Calm, cool, in control. It's really fantastic to witness.

Yea, the guy definitely wasn't a product of Marner/Dvorak. Unreal hands in tight, and he knows where to go.

He's a good puck retriever. I don't mind him out there. Even under Hartley some our best "Cold PP lulls" were killed by throwing Jooris out there.
That said it should Ferland there.

Please take Vey off the PP and put Ferland on it. Vey tries but plays always seem to die on his stick in the offensive zone.

I blame Engelland for being so lax on Panarin before the pass.

That is what the guy beside me just shouted. Why the f is Vey on the PP. This is another example why Gulutzan is not bright.

Another good period by the Flames. Getting plenty of chances on the PP, but we just can't seem to finish. Both goalies have played well. It's gonna be a tight 3rd.

Gulutzan's showing the wrong former players of his too much favoritism. He's favoring Chiasson and Vey when it should be Jokipakka and Shinkaruk.

Hathaway would be a much better choice if they wanted a puck retriever.

Shinkaruk has done nothing to earn any favoritism. He doesn't deserve to be in the lineup.
