I don't cook enough or well enough to recognize how much better gas would be.

Induction is so much safer if you have little ones. You literally never have to worry if you left the stove on

How good a price is this? What is the expected battery lifetime of one of these? Would you recommend for hardwood floors?

20-25 minutes on hardwood (what I use it for and imo it is awesome for that) about 7 minutes on boost for couches, carpet etc.
If your buying this for your full daily/weekly (not judging anyone's cleanup habits lol) carpet vacuuming don't, get a canister or upright.......... however if your buying it for hardwood or quick cleanups like dog hair on the couch, stairs and blinds it is fantastic.
I have an upright animal that I use for the basement carpet and stairs then my animal stick (booyaa) I use for everything else.

One thing to mention is this is an "older" model, they have moved on to the V6 and V8 models now. I assume it would be the older version of the current V8 animal model.

Yeah I've been looking at some of the Lodge cast iron skillets. Made in America and good price. Might pull the trigger.

^I have two, their cast iron is the best deal going. Also have an enameled DO that is indistinguishable from Le Creuset for far less money. They make good stuff.

Can attest to this as well.
Have Le Creuset as well as lodge, use them basically interchangeably depending on the amount of food I'm cooking.

For that price, buy two. Amazing product. Couldn't go back to a regular one.
