A lot of his double shift consist of playing 10 seconds, changing, then coming right back out for a the next shift to get away from the checkers.

I had the Oilers pegged for around 80 points this year. I still think they'll finish around there.
They were lucky early, but have been unlucky lately. I think they've shot something like 5% in the last 8-10 games.
They'll swing back to .500 hockey soon I believe.

This is all forwards who've played at least 100 minutes this season, sorted by points per 60 minutes played: http://stats.hockeyanalysis.com/rati...T&sortdir=DESC
McDavid is 5th overall in total points, but 33rd overall on this list.

He's definitely the real deal, isn't he? Just not quite the GOAT maybe.

That's a fair estimate. They're better than they were, thanks to marginally improved defence and an average to above average goaltender, as well as the shedding of a couple defensive liabilities (but losing Hall's production in the process, though I still think it was a net positive change). But not as good as things appeared in the first month.
They still don't have a legitimate #1D, and their forward depth was overrated by many going into the season. Some good young pieces (Pulju, Draisaitl) but it's clear that they need a lot of seasoning yet. Eberle is still a liability out there, Lucic's edge has dropped off (terrible contract), and RNH is struggling to be a regular producer. They're gonna need a lot more contributors than McDavid to be competitive..simply put. And not enough scoring from the blue line (highest producing d-man is 9th in team scoring). When Russell is looked at as an offensive d-man on your team, you have issues.

That is a lot of tough Even Strength minutes for a 19 year old kid.

I would expect that the Oilers lack of depth and lack of help in the face of injuries will drag this team down especially in the second half of the season when the really good teams kick things into high gear.
The Oilers still have to much of their weak core in place too many holes and they don't have much coming up from their prospect pool.
They had a nice start, but Calgary fans can tell you what happens to a team with one superstar and the rest are meh.

Sweatpants almost universally come with pockets, where else are they expected to abscond with illicitly obtained mustard packets from Wendy's?

Things people in Edmonton keep in their sweatpants:
-Illegally obtained mustard packets
-Free Costco food samples
-Broken truck nuts
-Motorola Razr
-Mullet Wax
-Shoe Polish (read Mullet Wax)
-Keys to a lifted and rusty red ford bronco with a 'Berta decal
-Bruised leg cream
