Someone with the time and skill should get the 21 hand slashes into a mini-clip. With longer cuts for dramatic effect it would probably only be 45 seconds long.
The season was lost before this news and now it's just going to be boring and useless. Time for this team to just start running players and taking penalties. I would watch games if the Flames didn't care about winning and only cared about hurting other players. I'm pretty close to being done with hockey.

The problem with the NHL is the officials try to balance penalties out through the game. The make up calls, etc. The fact that NHL teams are so close in total penalties at the end of the season is completely preposterous.
One Wild fan on HF is justifying this by saying they had 19 minutes in penalties last night, what more could Flames want?
I want the refs to call penalties regardless of the players involved, the score of the game, and the number of penalties the other team has. Is that too much to ask?

I still can't understand why the bull#### stickwork is tolerated so much. This is the most black-and-white area there is to officiate: If you intentionally contact the opponent's body with your stick, that's a penalty. On the other hand, I don't give a crap what you do to the other guy's stick......lift it, tie it up, slash it.
This #### is the worst part of the game, and the easiest to identify. Why do we tolerate it, while allowing otherwise "safe" plays (like slashing the stick) to be called penalties? Don't like your stick getting broken? Use a wooden stick!
The so-called "clutch and grab" never left...it's just called "slash and prod" now.

Time to bring up Bollig for the game against Minny and tell him to go after Parise Staal and Suter.
Time to go a step further. Use that tactic on every team. Don't just try to frustrate or contain them... Use intent to injure on the star players of EVERY team. That's what was done to gaudreau so let the rest of the league suffer the same way.
Don't worry about suspensions, fines, or even winning. Just send a message to the whole league. Don't worry about practicing power plays or breakouts anymore... just how to slash, crosscheck, and slough-foot. Nothing to lose now and it might just give the team something to rally behind.

You are right, they manage games instead of officiating games.

Makeup calls are the worst. Like that Monahan cross check negating the 2-man advantage. Two cross checks in succession right in front of the official (one by a Wild player and one by a Flame player) yet they call the one on the Flames because in the official's mind they have it coming because they just called two penalties on the Wild. I dream of a day when officials get it through their thick skulls that they should call infractions only and ignore the jersey and influencing the game by trying to balance penalties to each team.

Don't be silly, it's the PA's job to represent the players and Eric Staal is a player. Don't fault them for doing their job fault the guys who aren't doing their's that led to this.
Start with @NHLPlayerSafety .
Who represents Johnny.
If one member of the PA hurts another member of the PA then why is it the hurter gets the support.
Who represents the victim?

I wouldn't want to be on the other end of a Brian Burke phone call regarding this. I hope he speaks to media as well. A lot of people hate him, but I love the fire and no BS attitude he takes towards the league when this garbage happens.
