After a perfect shot power play goal by Pacioretty within the first couple minutes of the game, the Panthers have picked up the play. Goals by Petrovic (1st in 40 games!) and Rau (on a beautiful effort by Matheson) have the Panthers up 2-1 after 1.

Shots were 13-6 for Florida. Price made several really good saves with little support from his team defensively.

Hockey Fights Cancer is a tremendous charity. Very happy the NHL does this, and doesn't decide on a specific cancer to target.

I wonder how often teams practice 2 on 0s.

Well the Panthers struggles offensively continue, as they only manage 9 shots on goal through the next 35 minutes of play against Montreal. Game is tied at 3-3 with goals by Desharnais, and yes, Paul Byron for the Habs, and little mini-Malgin for the Panthers. That's now the 4th goal for the 19 year old Swiss player who stormed his way onto the roster this year. Gaudreau-ish at just 5'9" and 176 lbs.

Austin Matthews with only 2 goals since his 4 goal debut.

Still got 12 points on the season though, so far from a bust. It's just interesting.

Holy ####...the move that Barkov just made in overtime was insane. Price up to the challenge. Will post video when I can find it.

OMG!!! Ekblad breaks his stick on his shot and it slides slowly past Price for the win!!! Deflects off a defender's skate past the goalie. Crazy!!!!!!!

So is this finally the end for Iggy? Two goals, no assists thru 14 games.

People have been saying it's the end for the last 5 years at least, yet he kept on producing.

I still cling to the faint hope of a Flames SC run next season and Iggy signs a 1x1 and everything will be right in the Universe. Good chance I might die of happiness seeing Iggy win a Cup in the Flames uniform.

I was about to say, they're really sharp. They finally look like a hockey team. Maybe the best jersey redesign of the last ten years - depends how you feel about the Stars.

I'm glad Edmonton is losing but wow, Zach Kassian's fight was inspirational.

Apparently not all that inspirational, since they scored while he sat in the box for the roughing(?) penalty he took.

But at the same time, point taken. That was actually a good thing to do on his part. What a wild fight too.

Only the Oilers can make me cheer a Kesler goal.

Crosscheck.

Nice miss on the breakaway by McJeebus.
