This thread needs a title change... especially on the coach of the year part.

I read it as baby steps. Play hard at least for two periods for the love of god and hit the 3rd with a lead and maybe we can luck into some wins while we figure this mess out.

So if the fans can't figure out what the hell Glue Gun is saying, is it a huge stretch to think that maybe the players don't know what the hell he is talking about, either?

If you watched the rest of the interview, it was bizarre. Stream of consciousness with an unclear reference to the Flinstones, and I am looking forward to when he gets Sigmund Freud in the room. Maybe if they sort out their Oedipal issues they will be able to focus.

I just watched the interview. While agree the .579 part didn't make sense, I think you're just looking for things to take issue with. The rest of the interview was fine, and so what if he flubbed a quick media bit.
Clearly a few people here understood what he meant, and I hardly doubt anyone really cares if he stumbled in an interview. And if they do, they should probably take a step back.
His job is to coach.

The brilliance. Let's try to get the lead because you win more often playing from ahead, than behind. Frankly I couldn't give two ####s about what is said in any interview. Just win.

If one chooses to cherry pick than this is probably an easy conclusion to reach

Pretty straight-forward, unless of course you're looking for trouble.

Who cares about these stats. What is his plan for actually getting a two goal lead? What is his plan for holding onto a two goal lead? I think guys that are heavy into analytics end up playing for the numbers instead of actually playing hockey.

We have had a lead in the third what..once in the last 7 games? It's great to talk about our amazing possession stats when we are trailing the majority of the game. I agree with you...maybe a focus on getting a lead in a game and coming out strong for a change should be the focus. Even against Dallas, we had an 8-1 shot advantage...not one of those looked dangerous then got a PP that lost us any momentum and ended the period down 2-0 with shots 9-8. It continues to become more apparent that this is a back room stats guy and not a motivator/driver of a team...

It appears the Senators have adjusted very well to a new head coach, the Ducks aren't doing too bad with their new coach, and the Wild of course will have a very good season. How many games does it take again for a team to adjust to a new head coach and system?

Has nothing to do with adjusting. Everything to do with Coaching Ability.

I'm firmly on Team Fire Gulutzan at this point. What a tire fire disaster of a season. The smell of this one is gonna make my eyes water well into 2017.

Potentially the worst coach in franchise history. There is no doubt the coaching is a disaster.

The team is getting worse not better.
Less motivated than the beginning of the year.
Why doesn't he try new line combinations?
Why not:
Gaudreau Backlund Frolik?

Since about game 5 or 6 that would've been my first line.
But what do I know, right? Coach knows best.

Not just Gulutzan, need to fire Cameron as well. Can you imagine they get rid of Gulutzan and keep Cameron as interim?

Gulutzun reminds me of the Dallas Eakins era in Edmonton.

Greg Gilbert still is the champ. Maybe if Gully forces Sam Bennett out of town he will be in the running.
