Coaching Changes?
Riding low off of yet another loss of uninspired hockey. Now if, and that's a big if, Gulutzan is sent packing what really are the options for head coach? I'd have to believe if he's fired, our special teams wizard Cameron goes with him. So that leaves Jerrad or Gelinas with the interim tag or do you go out and find a 3rd guy to pay to coach the team? And who's really available? Ron Wilson? Todd Richards? Craig Berube? None of those inspire confidence. Unfortunately, the smart play is to probably let Gulutzan finish the year, if he is indeed on a one year deal. Then have a thorough search for a coaching staff. You know, where you don't interview only one guy and hand the reins over. Now if that's the case, do you pick an established NHL coach or roll the dice with another up and comer? There was a lot of interest on this board about Travis agreement if I recall. But who knows what current coaches will be available by this summer. Whatever Treliving does, the next coaching staff he hires will be the tipping point for his own job security.

Does Glen have a 1 year contract? I read that somewhere but can't imagine he would sign for only a year. Anyone know?

Get rid of Cameron at least. No excuse for a PP this bad.
I'm annoyed we probably could've had Boudreau, but we didn't bother to even contact him. Amazing.

I can't imagine there were any other offers on the table either. If a 1 year deal in the NHL is all you can get, you take it.

Coaching Changes?
No. #### is just not working. Top guys aren't producing when the others are and vice versa. Just a perfect storm of things going wrong.
I agree special teams ain't working but only cuz the players aren't able to produce

They had their big chance with Boudreau. Brad dun goofed by trying to outsmart everyone else, John Weisbrod style, and now it's all unravelling. Highly unlikely the owners are willing to pay multiple people not to coach this team, just months after they cleaned house with the last group.
Ride out this tire fire, pray that the lottery gods are kind, and hope someone competent becomes available in the summer. That's all we have to bank on - hopes and prayers.

Is a coaching change needed? Yes. Will it happen? No. I think we will be out of the playoffs by Christmas.

Easy to blame the coaches. And they shouldn't be absolved of some baffling decisions.
But who acquired Alex Chiasson AKA "Offensive Zone Penalties and play-killing shots on net"
Who acquired Troy Brouwer AKA "kills every damn offensive zone sequence and only real offensive skill is shooting if somebody else sets him up perfectly"
Who acquired Dougie Hamilton AKA "5.75 million dollar #5 defenseman"
Who signed, and then bought out, Mason Raymond?
Who signed to one-ways, and within a month waived, Karri Ramo, Devin Setoguchi and Nicklas Grossmann?
Who let Jiri Hudler go without finding a replacement for his net front role?
Who let Josh Jooris, David Schlemko, and Paul Byron go?
Who let Joe Colborne walk without finding a replacement for his net front role?
Who let Mike Cammalleri walk without finding a replacement for his elite shooting?
Let's be honest for once, this is a flawed roster despite some bright points it has not been put together cohesively.

I understand the need to be patient, but in a results oriented business and especially with the prediction of playoffs prior to the season's start - something needs to be done quickly to remind this entire organization that mediocrity is not to be tolerated. You don't need to necessarily fire Gulutzan, but Cameron has run out of rope and Jerrard is dangerously close.

Sorry but no chance they fire the whole coaching staff. Sadly if they fired GG more than likely it would be Cameron that would fill in for rest of year. Wouldn't have a problem if they fired Cameron though. I've stood up for this coaching staff, but now 15 games in and 3 days of qualtiy time to practice before tonights game, to see that was heart breaking.

You can't fire 23 players. Glen needs to go and he needs to go soon. Before the season is lost

Flames management never released any details about his contract, so its still unknown. People thought he was on a one year deal because of the Capfriendly website, but apparently it was just a placeholder.

Your list is a bunch of shlubs.
Colborne sucks in Colorado.
Cammi the 2nd time around did not have elite shooting
Jooris are you kidding me
Chiasson is fine if on bottom 6
I'll give you Byron should not have been waived.

So frustrating but there's no way they make a change now. Clearly though, GG does not have what it takes to coach at this level. I'm coming to the realization that this is going to be a lost season and we just need to accept it.

Wonder how many season ticket holders will re-up for next year with this garbage super boring system.
