Set-up Notes

Flames LW Matthew Tkachuk made an early exit from Wednesday’s practice due to an apparent wrist injury, but head coach Glen Gulutzan didn’t seem too worried, telling reporters the rookie left-winger needed a couple of stitches but “all seems pretty good” … Flames D Nicklas Grossmann cleared waivers and was assigned to the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat … Meanwhile, the Flames summoned C/RW Linden Vey from Stockton. In eight games with the Heat, the 25-year-old has collected three goals and nine points … The Flames are shooting to get back on track after a tough road-trip — they managed just one win and were outscored 16-5 during a four-game trek. The Stars, meanwhile, have only one victory and two loser points in five outings since the calendar flipped to November. Tuesday’s 8-2 walloping from the Winnipeg Jets marked the first time since March 2013 that the Stars have surrendered eight goals. “We came in here and played a terrible game, and that’s what you get,” fumed Stars captain Jamie Benn after the whupping in Winnipeg. “It’s pretty much rock bottom, I think. I don’t think you can get any worse than that.” … Stars LW Jiri Hudler will have to wait for his return to the Saddledome. The 32-year-old, who spent four winters with the Flames before being swapped to the Florida Panthers at the trade deadline last season and eventually signing with Dallas as a free agent this summer, has been limited to just four games this fall due to a virus.

Injuries

Flames: RW Kris Versteeg (groin) and LW Lance Bouma (upper body) are out.

Stars: C Jason Spezza (lower body) is nearing a return, while C Cody Eakin (knee), RW Ales Hemsky (hip), LW Jiri Hudler (illness), C Mattias Janmark (knee) and LW Patrick Sharp (concussion) remain out.

Let's hope GlueGun used these days off to get the boys prepared and ready for the game. 3-2 Flames W

I will be sad (but not shocked) if this isn't the Flames most complete effort at home this year. Flames take it 5-3.

With all the time off, hopefully the practices will have done the team some good.

The team better damn score on the PP. Haven't had one at home yet this season. Bloody disgusting stat.

I'll be going to this game tonight. First game in nearly 2 years. I'm excited to debut my retro gaudreau jersey. I'm hoping the boys pull out a win tonight!

They're all winnable, but this one very much so.

Fix the PP, please

14-13 Flames.

Flames score 6 times on the power play, and add 4 Shorthanded.

2 struggling teams, that both give up a hell of a lot of goals. Should make for an interesting high scoring night. Well other than the flames forgetting how to score goals (averaging just 1 goal scored over the past 5 games).

well, let's hope (like i have every single game of the year so far) that tonight's the night for the season's turnaround.... Go Flames Go.

Special teams are beyond pathetic right now. 8.3% on the PP? Are you kidding me?

Tonight is the perfect night to knock that #### off and play like they can. Gaudreau and Monahan need to step up ASAP they've been absolute garbage all season.

Really is a huge 2 points tonight. Now that I've got all that out of my system....5-1 Flames. Monahan x2, Gio, Frolik, Bennett.

Was hoping to see Jiri Hudler back in the Dome, but he's on the IR.

First game for Picklepakka against his old team though. Hope he scores tonight.
