Cross your fingers and hope for the best, I guess.
What a crazy, strange, sad election. Looking forward to 2020 already.

Depends what he wants to do to the press. Plus we'll see what AG Guiliani can do for him.

Domestically, however, Pence is a huge risk to large swaths of the population. He supports conversion therapy (as does the GOP platform) for gay kids, which often results in severe depression and often suicide attempts (or successes).
So it won't be a massive world war, but lives will still likely be lost.
This is a disaster for basically anyone who isn't a straight white rich guy.

Yeah, not sure how a viable Democratic candidate is going to come out of that to challenge Trump in 4 years.

I think it's more that the Dems coalition isn't as committed as the republican coalition. So in midterm elections republicans dominate which allowed them to control districting and voter rules. So while the Dems are more popular in terms of popular vote the republicans focused on changing the rules of the game.

Sure. If someone contacts us and shows that they understand what it is that was problematic and makes a concerted effort to modify their behaviour then we'll often give them additional chances. Some posters get suspended periodically because they periodically start going too far, but we don't permaban them because they make a net positive contribution.
Some people re-register and if we don't notice it (maybe because the negative behaviour has changed) then find out a long time after, we often don't do anything about it either (since the actual goal is to modify behaviour, not to hold a grudge).

Fair enough.
Honest question though, would the Mods consider an in person hearing for a suspendable / bannable offence? In keeping with the spirit of the NHL and Discipline?

CBC's coverage of American politics is cringeworthy. It's a really unpleasant combination of bias and contempt. I was pissed when I couldn't get the PBS stream on my AppleTV and had to resort to the CBC. David Frum had some nice insights, but the rest was terrible.

This is sad. I know Trump doesn't condone him, but still. Ugly.

What's most shocking to me is how badly Clinton got destroyed. Seriously, who would have predicted Trump would take all of those swing states? And now it's looking like he's gonna take PA as well. It's astonishing how wrong the polls were.
