Hatesong
In HateSong, we ask our favorite musicians, writers, comedians, actors, and so forth to expound on the one song they hate most in the world.
http://www.avclub.com/features/hatesong/
"Cat's In The Cradle" - I’ve always thought it was a deadbeat-dad anthem K. Hanna
"American Pie" - I find it to be so arrogant to write a song about the end of an era S. Yeaton
"You Belong With Me" - This song is just about how slutty this other girl is E. Heller
"Don't Stop Believin'" - there is no south Detroit. It doesn’t exist. J. Casey
"No Scrubs" - the meanest, dumbest song ever made LR Howery
What songs do you hate, and why?

"Just The Way You Are" - Don’t progress, don’t try new things, don’t work towards a deeper connection with me. Just stay exactly as you are H. Kremer
"Hey Soul Sister" - the sound of diarrhea D. Waters
"Ho Hey" - so plain. It’s like Wonder bread M. Paternoster
"Piano Man" - My knee-jerk reaction is to want to grab the drill out of the dentist’s hands and shove it into my eardrum, then drill out my eardrums so I don’t have to hear it anymore T. Vee

Encore Presentation: The Worst Songs Of All Time?
http://www.npr.org/sections/allsongs...gs-of-all-time
Our mission at All Songs is to bring you our favorite musical discoveries of the week. But after Stephen wrote his column examining Starship's widely reviled hit single "We Built This City," we watched the comments pour in like an out-of-control fire hose, and got to talking about all the songs that drive us bonkers. It was so much fun we decided to continue the discussion here, with a look at some of the contenders for worst songs of all time and why they stick in our craw. These are relentless earworms — songs you can't escape once they're in your head — or annoying novelty songs. "The Candy Man," anyone? We also look at songs that take themselves too seriously, songs we used to love until they were ruined by a bad personal experience and more.

How is this different than "Songs you don't like"?
At first I thought it only referred to songs that were universally loved that you didn't like. There's hundreds of songs I hate?
One song that I cannot stand and think should ruin their legacy forever: "Yellow Submarine" by The Beatles.
Anyone who says they like that song is ####ing lying.

It just sounds cooler than saying, "Just a city boy, born and raised in Windsor, Ontario."

Pearl Jam's remake of Last Kiss. Worst song ever.

Yet, I've heard of all these songs and not heard of a single one of the people that hate them. So they must've done something right.

"Hey there, Delilah". I loathe when that comes on the radio. Loathe with a passion.

So does the fact I don't have any idea who any of these 'favourite' musicians, writers, comedians, or actors are make me old? Or just a non-hipster?

I'm old and a hipster, and only know about 1/3 of the commentators.
The hate is good, but I want to see the why. That's the good part - I like scathing reviews.

I'm with Polak - you won't find a bigger Beatles fan than me, but Yellow Submarine is awful. I refuse to believe anyone genuinely likes that song. They just feel sorry for Ringo and want him to get a bit of acclaim.
