I will say, the Flames are really looking to be moving into their own Eakins era. Last place in GA, with a cap team, and apparently very good defencemen.

This thread was funny when it was petty, but the Flames fans had an upper hand. It's going to get really awkward when they're going through their own debacles and this thread survives. I kind of cringe when I read it now.

well, his new avatar is a self-troll. It's an older fella who's career is going to take a nosedive and put bullet holes in the Oilers pay structure for years to come.

I will always continue making fun of the Oilers regardless of where they are in the standings. It was 10 years of total futility for that organization.

While Calgary kept trying to be respectable and actually win games, Edmonton built a team to lose on purpose, and year after year would go up to that podium at the draft with their #### eating grins.

Then we would hear stuff like: "They're building something special up there" by the media, while the same media would point at the Flames and say how wrong they were to.. keep trying to win games?

The only thing special they ended up building in Edmonton was a new arena on the backs of the tax payers, and a horrible embarrassment of a professional sports team until they lucked out and drafted a generational talent.

Every single win they have should come with an asterisk. For instance:

Oilers 2 Detroit 1*

*NHL's all-time embarrassment of a franchise lucked into drafting generational talent or they would have lost this game too.
