If the E=NG thread were in its first iteration, and had only been in existence for 3 weeks, then perhaps, ever so slightly, there would be some cause for concern about the thread. As it is, it is the 4th iteration, the greasers no goodness has been going on for years and years, and certainly longer than the 10 year phase 4 rebuild.
E=ng isn't about a few hockey games.
And while I really do not like to suggest such things, but if people feel "bad" about this thread, please feel free to create another thread about how those gosh darn ragamuffin good time johnnies from greaserville finally got it right for 15 games of the season after a 10 year rebuild with numerous high draft picks...on a flames board. or better still...don't.

It's time to close this thread. The Oilers are finally good/decent this year and we are a garbage dump. Before we start mocking other teams we need to look in the mirror first. Karma is catching up with us.

All it took was 10 years, 7 coaches, 4 GMs, 3 rebuilds, an unprecedented string of top 5 picks, an endless carousel of failed first rounders, ejecting 2 first over all picks into the sun, and having the unfathomable luck to stumble drunk and blind into the singularly best hockey talent in a decade -- since Crosby or Ovechkin.
You now look like a middling NHL team in November. Good job Greaseville!!
When the rest of the league realizes your one play is to give the puck to McJesus and watch him single handedly tear into the offensive zone, they will find a way to frustrate him, and you will be lucky to make the playoffs. That team is still not built for a cup challenge and will need a 4th rebuild to amount to more than a fart in the wind.

Kevin Lowe stated that he cared more about the opinion of Tier 1 fans, the ones that spend their money coming to the games, rather than Tier 2 Oiler fans, who don't.

Yes but he didn't say it quite so concisely. It was more of a ramble. (actual quote) "We have two types of fans: we have paying customers, and uh, people that watch the games that we still care about, but, um, certainly the people that go to the games, and support, we-we-we spend a lot of time talking to them, delivering our message, uh... I would uh, I think it's safe to say that half the general managers in the national hockey league would trade their roster for our roster right now!"

I hate Oilers fans as much as the next guy .... but you can't blame any fan for taking shots at our losing streak in Anahiem. It's deplorable. The Flames deserve being made fun of over it.

The Flames can afford to not win in Anaheim for that long and still be able to make the playoffs. The oilers can get high pick after high pick and still be garbage, that's a way more important record.

Just wondering where you and your other losers went to during the Oilers 3 game losing streak? It was pretty quiet around here while you grew more and more worried that the bottom had fallen out. Don't worry, it's still coming.

So if the Oilers make the playoffs this year, (which they're not going to do, because frankly its in their nature to collapse, give up, mail in efforts and outright suck). Its a total fluke right? Of course it is, they stumbled their way to a generational player thanks to a forgiving draft system, which should have instead forced the Oilers into the AHL where they belong.
Frankly the Oilers still don't have the depth to be good for an entire season, they're riding McDavid right now, but all that's doing is driving up his value to a 12 million dollar payday at the end of next year.
