Who do these Flames remind you of right now? The Dallas Eakins Oilers is a good comparison if you ask me.

Greg Gilbert's flames would probably out perform GG's team. Its that bad.

I'm actually amazed you took this position. You hated Hartley too.

The result was as expected. I have resigned myself to the fact I will never see the Flames win a game in Anaheim in my lifetime.

yeah I totally agree with all this. I guess the next few will really tell a better story. Longest break between games thus far is coming up (no games until Thursday). Let's hope they have three days of lots of practice and video and see if they can really harness everything together.

Maybe they were unfortunately wrongly accused and it was the brutal team in front of them.

Glue. Patience. It's a process. Brouwer. Better goalies. Process.

Just want to point out that the Oilers also have had a pretty tame schedule to start the season. http://www.hockey-reference.com/team...017_games.html

Calgary - W

Worst +/- in the league at -15.
That's a team problem, not a player problem.
Goals against 51, first in the league, only close to Philly at 48.
That's a team problem, not a player problem.
Emotionless coach talking platitudes.
He's the biggest piece of the problem.

I think you are safe to assume at least 10 GA in those two games

I acknowledge that you corrected me with the win over the Pens. But that doesn't mean that I was making up facts about them being scoreless for 3 straight games.

It's nice to see some optimism on the board during such dark times.

Pittsburgh fired their coach and won the cup last year. There is still hope.

Good teams stick up for each other seems like a terrible way to punish a player who did a lot for this team last season! On his off ice habits the question is, is enough leadership on the team to encourage him to make good choices?

The Flames need to put Chiasson into the press box and recall either Klimchuk or Jankowski and put them on the first line. Janko is a smart enough player that he can easily play the wing if necessary and Klimchuk has a good sniper's level shot. Either type of player is desperately missing from the first line. I think that a good portion of the problem with that line specifically is that they are not getting any help from the third guy on that line. It's easy to control the play if you only realistically have to cover two players.

If management had felt that way, then I think we can assume that they would've re-signed at least one of them to another contract, but obviously that never happened.

Your facts were literally wrong, they were coming off a big win
anyway if your argument is the Kings at home are an easy out for the Flames...good luck with that one

Maybe if he was the only one playing like garbage. But all of our top players have been neutered offensively. That's coaching/systems.

Hopefully one year. In all seriousness though, I'm legit not watching again until this team goes on at least a 4 game win streak. Why would I waste 3 hours of my day, constantly rolling my eyes at the TV and being put in a bad mood. It's easy to say "that's just sports" but I think we all know we get emotionally invested in the teams we follow. This is more painful than Brent's years. At least with Brent we knew we didn't have a playoff team roster but still hoped for some overachieving. The current team we have, on paper, is a playoff team but are playing like the 2010-2015 Oilers.
