I doubt it. These re-match games are always a big let down. The media tries to build-up bad blood, but I'm sure the league tells each team there will be harsh penalties for any rough stuff and nothing ever happens.

That needs to be at the least a heavy fine.

Just like when Kadri said the same thing and did the throat slashing gesture, on national TV, to Gio after the completely clean hit last year?

Leafs called in their favours to the league and Kadri had a team imposed, not league imposed, game off.

Kadri got the maximum fine for that. Did you miss that?

What "Favours" are the Leafs getting btw? I can bring up numerous examples where they've been heavily punished. Kadri himself was suspended multiple times.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/n...iello-kypreos/

The Leafs losing a draft pick for signing a plug in Jonus Frogren was a joke. No way the NHL takes a draft pick from the Nashville Predators.

To point out, Kadri did a throat slash gesture. Shoertly after that in the first round of the playoffs Kris Letang actually slashed someone's throat with a stick and did not getting anything (No fine, suspension or penalty). So where's the favouritism?

Kadri gave the internationally recognized sign for "I'm going to sneak up behind you and murder you". I do remember that Penguins game though, where Letang skated to the bench to switch out the stick that he had been quietly sharpening for the first two periods, and then drifted up to a player, so that his skates wouldn't make any noise, reached around and followed Kadri's example. He then wiped down the stick with his jersey and innocently wandered to a concessional to buy popcorn, so that he could look surprised that an incident had occurred.

Memory is a strange thing sometimes, but I'm sure that's what went down.

Bob McKenzie ✔ @TSNBobMcKenzie
No hearing/supplementary discipline for Nazem Kadri hit on Daniel Sedin last night.

what a joke. I fully expected Kadri to get off lightly because he's a Leaf, but no suspension at all? Are you kidding me?!

He's been suspended before. What does it matter he's a Leaf. Wouldn't he never be suspended?
It wasn't a head shot and he got heavy penalized. nothing else can be done.

Yeah I didn't think it was suspension worthy.

@Ech28
Blind side hits are NOT illegal in itself. If the head isn't the MAIN point of contact, it doesn't matter if it's North/South or East/West.

But the Leafs get so many favours! In fact right now they're 28th in PP opportunities! And Kadri has only been suspended 3 times!

Please shut the #### up.

People have different opinions. And some people - horrors - don't like your Leafs. Deal with it.

You don't have to cry every single time.

He couldn't - if it was deemed a headshot, they would probably have had to give him a big suspension, because he's a repeat offender (4 games for cross check last season). Hence why they didn't.

Beating the tar out of Martin is pretty much par for the course, and it's what Martin gets paid for. That probably shouldn't cause anyone to bat an eye. The question is whether someone decides that an eye for an eye means targeting Matthews, or Marner, or Nylander. This is why you don't try to beat up on a rookie.

As noted, it was a tough spot because of his history - either they throw the book at him or give him nothing. There wasn't really room for a middle ground there. The fact that it's the Leafs and the fact that Sedin seems to be okay is the finger on the scale that causes it to tilt towards "no foul".

By the way, I wish people wouldn't post still shots of hits, especially grainy ones like that one. They provide nothing but misleading information.

Come on, that's b.s. The "Misleading" info comes from people seeing the hit once and jumping to conclusions. The still photo was point of contact. Much better than some of the hilarious recreations I've read.
