How does this work under the cap? Is Smid LTIR?

Pretty much what I figured from Training Camp, first guy called up in case of injury.

I don't think Shinkaruk deserved a call-up as much as Klimchuk or Jankowski. However Shinkaruk has the most NHL experience and may be effective in this role.

One would assume so, there was no need for it until now.

Big time opportunity for Shinkaruk. Once Versteeg is healthy, it would be easy to send down Hamilton, Kulak or Grossman. Huge chance to stay with the big club.

Put him on a line with Bennet and Gaudreau.

He has been offensively dynamic, though I have felt each of Jankowski, Poirier, and Klimchuk have been just as noticable.
Crazy we have four former first round forwards all less than six months apart in age and less than ten spots apart in draft position all starting to peak around the same time with legitimate NHL shots.

Makes sense. Third leading scorer7 points in 7 games. Was hoping for pribyl, but will take hunter with his previous experience.
Just hope the only reason he put up points last year was a hot monahan and gaudreau. Team needs a spark here.

Yup. I will add with the amount "good" prospects the flames seem to have right now that he really needs to show he belongs in the NHL. When you have that many prospects playing good, you sometimes only get one chance.

Klimchuk's success is really starting as of this season, and it's a small sample size so it would be nice to see him stay where he is to see him keep rolling and if he can sustain it.
Jankowski is better served playing Centre and more minutes on the farm at present.
So seeing Shinkaruk get the call-up makes sense.

I agree with the call up. The other guys all playing well too, however I'd like to see them gain their strides. Shinkaruk has been a force at the AHL level for a couple years now and has most NHL experience. He has also shown chemistry with Gaudreau and Monahan if that's were they plan on slotting him.
