Who's more pissed off tonight... Rajai Davis or Michaela?
I thought Jays life was in danger for a moment there.

Her shock and the dramatic stare down that ensured between her and Jay in the middle of a vote will go down as a great Survivor moment. Credit to Jay and Will for having the balls to do that. Knowing the merge is next episode, I think it'll end up being a good move for them as I think Michaela would done really well in the individual immunity challenges and would have been difficult to get out like Joe.
Every vote this season has been close or unexpected. Love that the cast is playing hard and are willing to take huge risks.

The best move is that they got rid of her before the jury was formed. I think that she could have been a very good jury member.

She would have been incredibly bitter to the jury in her FTC questions, for some reason or another.
There was a confessional in there where she acknowledged that she better slow down the domination or it's going to backfire, but didn't really take it to heart and plotted out everybody's move for the rest of the game.

Fantastic move to vote out maybe the strongest competitor in the game.
That's how survivor needs to be played.

Wow, another great episode even better than the last. Love it. This cast is here to play. Micheala annoyed me but I respected her game, that was an incredible move by Jay. I loved her reaction, very satisfying. I am very glad she isn't on the jury as her vote would have been bitter just like her (over)reaction. William for being so young is quite composed.

I'm wondering why she had shocked reactions when her first 2 votes were read. Obviously the Gen- Xers had 2 votes so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

She was probably assuming they would vote for each other, so there shouldn't have been any other names voted for.
I thought after they lost the challenge the vote was going to be boring, just pick off one of the Gen-X ers. Boy, was I wrong. Been a pretty good season so far.

I am not a fan of seasons where the truly pathetic physical players - not the weak ones but the truly useless - are allowed to linger in the game.
This was a bad move. Dumb. But kudos to the producers for the way they handled the episode.

Was finally able to watch this one, and that was quite the blindside. While I think it was a good tactical decision, I think it was a bad decision show-wise. Sure, she's usually a challenge beast, but she looked lost in that Immunity challenge and I was wondering if she was trying to do too much herself.
I find myself amused that Orange has Chris. That guy has been carrying them along, too.
While Michaela's reaction is to be expected, I was wondering how Hanna would take this one. Looks like she might be primed to flip next ep to give the Gen X'ers the edge to run the Millennials off.

I know she said to Jay "did you do this?" and he said "yes".
But wasn't the younger kid who came up to Jay to pitch the idea?
I like the edit because they didn't shoe them talking to the Gen-X'ers so I just assumed it was going no where. Great surprise!

Hanna is a idiot, not to be mean, but she's just going to play follow the leader and then have anxiety attacks and make bizarre faces.
She's also not really trustworthy in the worst way.

a) she helps win challenges which secures your tribe until merge (even though, looks like next week the merge happens but at the time of the vote people didn't know that) and
b) she would have been an easy one to get people to gang up with you to vote out because of how strong she is down the road. I think Jay played the backstabbing card too early. Now you have 5 people that know you're not trust-worthy and you got rid of somebody that would've been an easy out later on.
She was never going to be able to manipulate the masses. She was too conniving and controlling- too big a personality. Her ego gets in her way. The opposite effect is why David is still in this. You can't try to control the game like that. And for these reasons it was a bad move. Now the merge is going to happen and it's a whole new ball game and frankly, Brett is a really strong player too- you could have got him out.
The fact Brett is a cop and can read people, their tells, if they're lying, etc. plus he doesn't really annoy anyone other than raise suspisions due to lying... I dunno. He is a dark horse here and I'm pumped about my pick!

If you play a good social game though you WANT to go to Tribal, you don't want to win challenges.
Guys like Tony, Russell, Parvati, they all showed you want to go to Tribal in order to make the big moves in order to shape your chances as best you can.

You really also want to show that your too strategic or too understanding of the game until after the merge.
Smart people get eaten by the stupid in this game all the time.
If you can create a good voting block pre merge, great, but unless your like the Black widows your block won't survive the merger because its too big of a threat.
there's something to playing dumb until your in the final 5 and then turning it up both in terms of strategy and in terms of immunity.

Really looking forward to next week for the merge as I don't see the Gen X vs. Millennials line in the sand being as distinct. There are quite a few players that will play both side. Will make things very interesting.
Hate to see good, strong, smart players leave pre-merge.

Jay went to him and said what about Michaela to him after the scene with the shells and he had the confessional saying she made him nervous with how good she was

Wow that was awesome. Her reaction and the stare down was great. Thought she might punch Jay out. Debating if it was a good move or not. I actually think she would have been loyal to the end with them.
Interesting to see where everyone goes now that the merge is happening. Taylor was trying to get with the two gen x players. Hannah as useless as she is will most likely try to flip. Lots of options for the players. Should make for some more good tribals I'm thinking.

She may have been loyal, but she would have destroyed them in the final. They wouldn't have a chance to make a big move themselves, and the jury would see that she was the challenge beast, and in control of the game. Getting rid of her was their only good choice to win in the end. Could it have waited? Maybe, but then their is the risk of her going on a win streak, and being grouped with her so when things go bad, they get picked off.
At the very least, if they make it to the final they have something to point to as a moment they seized to change their game.

To me the overall winning strategy seems to be
When you get in work to get a quiet alliance right off the start, but make sure you take on the henchman role not the leadership role in the alliance. Don't be too overtly strategic don't drive the vote, make suggestions
Try to be a beast in reward challenges. Don't throw immunity challenges but do the bare minimum to make it look like your trying hard, your just not terrific at it.
Just before the merge, stab the leader of your alliance in the back and take control of the alliance.
After the merge if your alliance is stronger, let someone else take control of your alliance and take the role of trusted advisor.
If your alliance isn't stronger, play the mercenary swing vote.
If you can find an idol, great, if not not a big deal.
turn up your game in individual immunity.
Play the swing vote power to a majority alliance to the final five.
When you get to the final five, start gutting the players that are going to look good in the finals. Bring along weak players that need help that are going to look bad in the finals.
In your final speech and q+a own what you did. I was Brutus to everyone elses Cesar I made my moves and then played the swing vote. I turned it up in challenges when it was to my benefit. At the end of the day, this is survivor and from day one its an individual game. Then flip everyone the bird and mac the hot chick. Promise to give some money to orphans.
Win
