Had his stick down for the faceoff and dude just skated into it. I mean I guess that's a penalty, but geez. Someone literally bodychecked Gio away from the play.

I believe that is his 13th minor.

They have been costly.

Good period.

They play well in San Jose

Just keep it up and they should be fine

Assuming you are in Calgary and have a pvr pausing for about 4 to 5 seconds at the start of the game makes it near instantaneous.

Who here thinks Monahan is still nursing a bad back? He looks like he can barely skate out there, just coasting everywhere.

Definitely in that conversation with Backlund. Marchand/Bergy would be my other pick.

I know Bennett's been taking a lot of penalties but, kind of hard to fault him on that one, that's a real weak call.

Chucky - so awesome, that's the way to tell Flames management that you made the right call!

that was a really weak call. And after 5 or 6 should-have-been-penalties that they didn't call on the Sharks

Good thing he doesn't play beer league where you get a 1 gamer for accumulated PIMs haha.

I really must say though, if a player walks over your stick and trips himself it's stupid the opposing team gets the call....

In all fairness the flames also played very well against Chicago last game. Aguably since that first game against Chicago the team has played well.

If he's healthy then his effort is embarrassing.

Excellent period by the Flames with a couple of beauty goals from Brouwer and Tkachuk and perfect goaltending from Johnson. Monahan and Gaudreau continue to be invisible, which is incredibly frustrating. But hey, we've got a 2-0 lead on the road, so I'm happy.

good period for the flames. you can really see their game turning around the past few (with some pain/unevenness). hope they keep it up in the third. sharks will press hard. they're out-possessing the sharks 5 on 5 so far which is really hard to do and something they haven't done for years.
