Default Wisdom teeth removal

So that sucked beyond all suckiness.

Yoink . . . .ayeeee. Frozen mouth hilarious, and now three days at least of soft food and spitting saltwater so my blood clots don't dislodge. What the hell.

I don't think having your wisdom teeth pulled is as painful as watching the Flames these days....

The year I had my wisdom teeth removed (all 4) the Flames went to the cup final. I hope his pain brings the team luck.

I had mine removed when I was about 19-20. I must have had a great dentist or have been awfully lucky or both because I was back at my summer job an hour later. Some of the people there were gobsmacked and told me to go home. I really didn't see what all the fuss was about. As I recall he froze everything, slit the gums and PUSHED them out. By the next day I was 100%.

When I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out I had gauze and everything in my mouth for days and I wasn't supposed to talk at all so I had a little whiteboard where I could write my girlfriend things.. All I was writing was:
"Need more Vicodin"
over and over heh

I had all 4 yanked at once. The bleeding wouldn't stop it was a bloodbath.

Had to have all 4 sockets stitched up.

Yes, it sucks.

That, and your avatar made me think of this:

It's amazing how it doesn't affect some at all. I was out from work almost a week. I came out of anaesthetic and tried to fight my way off the table. Woke up strapped down and was so drugged up after they cranked the machine up to Irish I convinced my girlfriend that I needed pizza hut. That was a mistake.

In the commotion, they left one in there. I let it grow out and had the dentist pull it the old fashioned way and went back to the office.

When I was a teen I had braces for almost 5 years. 2 days after I got them off, I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled. To this day, it remains the most excruciatingly painful experience of my life.

I remember waking up from the surgery face down on the operating table. No one else was in the room. I started removing all the chords attached to me and finally someone came in. My Dad then drove me home and I remember pretty much bleeding nonstop for days on end. I'd wake up in pools of blood in so much pain. All my painkillers were used up really quickly.

When the bleeding finally stopped, the skin of my face had turned yellow and I had 2 big black eyes. They had to break my jaw in 2 places to get to my wisdom teeth so my cheeks had big black/blue bruises all along them. Had to go to school and work and I looked like I'd gotten beaten up over and over again.

My experience is probably more on the extreme end, but to this day it's the worst pain I've ever been in and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Actually, that's not true. If I had a worst enemy, having their wisdom teeth removed and to go through what I did would be exactly what I'd wish on them.

Man, some of you got it bad. Glad I read this thread after I had mine out otherwise I think I'd have to be drugged and dragged in.

Went smooth as silk for me. Downed a bunch of adivan, blacked out for a few hours. Woke up at home in bed wondering if I had even been to the appointment. No bleeding, no swelling, no pain. Back at work the next day.

If you have the choice, don't get put under. That way you can keep an eye on the Doc and they won't be so rough with your face.
