Default Flames at Blackhawks, 6:30 PM. Sportsnet Flames, Fan 960

The Flames return to the scene of the crime, where the win streak began. Can the boys start a new one? Will anyone in Chicago be watching hockey tonight? We shall see!

From www.calgaryherald.com

How They Match Up

Forwards: Blackhawks

Toews should spark after first goal of campaign.

Defence: Blackhawks

This one could be a coin-flip.

Goaltending: Flames

Elliott outduelled Crawford in their last showdown.

Power Play: Blackhawks

Flames have only four PP goals, two in Chicago.

Penalty Kill — Flames

Chicago’s shorthanded stats are shockingly bad.

Intangibles — Blackhawks

United Center is one of NHL’s scariest stops.

Overall — Blackhawks

But hey, we were wrong last time these two squads met.

Set-up Notes

The Flames are visiting United Center for the second time in a nine-day span. Thanks to a pair of power-play tallies, an acrobatic toe save by G Brian Elliott in the final seconds and a snipe by RW Kris Versteeg in the seventh round of the tie-breaking skills competition, they scratched out a 3-2 shootout victory last Monday … The Flames haven’t won twice in the Windy City in the same season since 2007-08. That was also the last time the Blackhawks missed the playoffs … The Flames’ last five victories against the Hawks have all come via overtime or shootout. Their last regulation triumph against Chicago was back in February 2012 at the Saddledome … Blackhawks C Artem Anisimov is currently riding a seven-game point streak, tied for the third-longest spree in the NHL so far this season. C Claude Giroux has hit the scoresheet in nine consecutive contests for the Philadelphia Flyers, while C Victor Rask has points in eight straight for the Carolina Hurricanes … The Blackhawks have the NHL’s worst penalty-kill stats, by far, with just a 53.1% success rate in shorthanded scenarios. In fact, Sunday’s 3-0 shutout victory over the Los Angeles Kings marked the first time in nine outings so far this fall that they didn’t surrender a man-advantage marker … After Tuesday’s tilt, the Flames are headed west for a three-games-in-four-nights jaunt through California.

6-2 hawks
Whenever I seem to say this, the team finds a way to win so this will be my standard prediction.

Oilers have had nothing but soft home games, and the Flames have been to Chicago twice?

Flames started the season with Oilers x2, Canucks, Buffalo & Carolina.

They had their gift.

It'll catch up to them eventually, there's no way the Oilers can keep this pace up. The view from the bottom for them will be inevitable.

We squandered our soft schedule with a pathetic start.

I posted this on the last Chicago GDT and the Flames won that game and finished the road trip 2-0.
Let's try this again.

Just here to post a picture of a red car made for Johnny, hopefully it breaks him out of his slump.

Yeah but the Oilers schedule has been sooooo soft... whole lotta home games predominantly against teams that didn't make the playoffs. It's making their fans insufferable (seriously... you can almost see them mapping out the parade in their heads). That's okey... November is the opposite for them so I'm going to take extreme schadenfreude in watching the fall that comith after the pride.

I would be pleasantly suprised if the flames win this game... Might be the most important road trip of the season

My mind is having trouble picturing two wins in Chicago. The Hawks 3-0 win over LA will have them feeling good. Reports say it's their first time looking like themselves this season.

A strong Elliott, and the first line clicking could do it though.

And if they do well in November?

Who cares about the Oilers, after 10 years of garbage they're bound to have a good start, lets just hope the Flames are in a Playoff spot and can start building a cushion asap.

Frustrating that this team wasn't prepared to start the season, and now we're playing catch up against teams like Chicago, St Louis and Washington. Big 6 games coming up against LA, SJ, Ana, Dallas, Minn and NYR. If we can't go something like 4-2 it's going to be a pretty big hole to climb out of.

12 games until American Thanksgiving. We need at least 7 wins to stay in the mix.

whatta buncha pessimists.

3-0 Flames. Elliott plays great, Johnny pots a slick breakaway goal. Hamilton wrister from the top of the circle on the PP. Stajan with the ENG.

I stopped watching games after the brutal start, then the Flames went on a win streak with games that I didn't watch. I didn't watch the Washington game and they lost....Therefore logic dictates that I can watch tonight's game!!

The tough question now is do I watch while wearing a jersey or not?

F superstitions!
