Yeah, a 23 year old that just became wealthier than he could have ever imagined, a young star in a highly competitive atmosphere has nothing to learn about himself or the game. You're right...

at least Brodie was good. Gaudreau is my favorite player on the team and i love him but he was absolutly attrocious. He needs to get his #### together ASAP or this teams not going anywhere

Sure it was close score but that was only because of Elliott.
Flames were out chanced by a mile.
They are not going to win games when they do not generate offence chances.

A tough stretch is a season and a bit now .
I just hate his contract. You can't start slow Untill your almost 40. This is a year the team and him can ill afford to let him do so.

a season and a bit? 21 goals last year by a d-man and that's a tough stretch?

Man. I know a loss sucks but the negativity around here is painful. That was a pretty solid all around game against one of the best teams in the league. There can be moral victories at this stage on the season, and this is one.

I think it's tough to watch the depth of the team play great, just in time to have most of our top-end teams see struggles. It's frustrating.

One thing you can look at - Backlund's line fared quite well against Ovie. he got some chances but overall a good checking job.

By no means was that a moral victory. The Flames were wholely outclassed. Elliott outplaying Holtby was the only reason it was close-ish in score. I have no problem with Moral Victories but that was not one.

I thought they played well honestly. Sometimes, the puck just doesn't go in the net.

Close-ish? Outside of the empty netter it was literally as close as you can be in a loss (OT and SO not withstanding). I honestly didn't think it was a bad game for the flames, the first 10 minutes were a bit rough but the Caps are one of the best teams and I thought we looked pretty good for most of the game. We still need serious work on special teams and our top players need to pick it up, but it seems we're trending in the right direction.
