Plane made in China, slid off runway. LaGuardia runway jobs shipped to Mexico because of NAFTA. Sad.

LaGuardia is such a hell hole. It's just a matter of time till something goes horribly wrong there.

I'm glad everyone involved is okay. That would be a horrible experience for anyone.

Texas guy arrested for electioneering by refusing to take off his "Basket of Deplorables" shirt.
In what amounted to a harsh civics lesson, a would-be early voter spent some time Monday at the Comal County Jail in New Braunfels after wearing partisan political garb into a polling place.
Charged with “electioneering,” a misdemeanor, Brett Mauthe, 55, of Bulverde was released on $500 bond. In an account he gave to KSAT 12 the next day, Mauthe admitted going into a polling place in Bulverde wearing a hat supporting Donald Trump and a T-shirt bearing the words “Basket of Deplorables.”
Mauthe said that he got rid of the hat as requested but would not budge on removing the shirt, leading to his arrest. Contacted Thursday afternoon, he was less forthcoming.
“The reason I’m not going to talk any more to the media is that the story gets twisted around, and I don’t want to give you any comment,” he said.
Bulverde police did not return calls Thursday seeking information about the case.

Lol and Trump surprises Melania by letting her know on live TV that she'll be doing 2 or 3 campaign speeches right after she says her priority is her son and that "we'll see" about joining Trump on the campaign trail.

That seems like a petty "electioneering" charge. For wearing a t-shirt in support of a candidate? I don't see anything wrong with that, although I guess it's the law.
What's the law with that "Voter ID Required" sign in Texas? Like, that is just straight up ridiculous.

Everyone's there to vote is the idea I guess, not there to try and convince other people how to vote. And the easiest place to draw the line is just make it zero.
What could be interesting though is I see a LOT of chatter on twitter about Trump supporters to wear red. They want to show how many people are voting Trump. Then stick around or drive somewhere else to "watch" the polls to make sure there's no voter fraud.
There was even a website where you could go and upload your photo and print official looking poll watching ID badges saying you were a poll watcher.
I mean the RNC has been under a consent decree for decades for when they had people with official looking armbands "monitoring" polls, and now these people want to coordinate to wear red and have poll station monitor id badges??
Must be driving the RNC crazy, they're going to have the consent decree extended.

The runway damage you see at LGA was by design. Not third world infrastructure -- actually first world. It's called EMAS.

Trump: Pence "was in a big accident with a plane...was very close to grave grave danger."
Oi...
Think he'll say government regulations saved the plane from going into the river? Yeah right.
EDIT: How long until he claims it was an attack on Pence?

In its 144-year history, The Yale Record has never endorsed a Democratic candidate for president. In fact, we have never endorsed any candidate for president. This is, in part, due to our strong commitment to being a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization, which mandates that we are “absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.”
This year’s presidential election is highly unusual, but ultimately no different: The Yale Record believes both candidates to be equally un-endorsable, due to our faithful compliance with the tax code.
In particular, we do not endorse Hillary Clinton’s exemplary leadership during her 30 years in the public eye. We do not support her impressive commitment to serving and improving this country—a commitment to which she has dedicated her entire professional career. Because of unambiguous tax law, we do not encourage you to support the most qualified presidential candidate in modern American history, nor do we encourage all citizens to shatter the glass ceiling once and for all by electing Secretary Clinton on November 8.
The Yale Record has no opinion whatsoever on Dr. Jill Stein.

The Run Up podcast (mentioned in the thread already I think) has a good couple of episodes about 5 hours of biographical interviews that have never been heard before and what they say about Trump.
Really interesting.

Deplorable
Quote:
In a stunning moment during a Thursday night debate, an embattled U.S. senator cast doubt on his opponent’s military and ethnic heritage.
Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), seeking to unseat GOP Sen. Mark Kirk in Illinois, invoked her family’s military service while answering a debate question.
“My family has served this nation in uniform going back to the Revolution,” Duckworth said. “I am a daughter of the American Revolution. I’ve bled for this nation. But I still want to be there in the Senate when the drums of war sound. Because people are quick to sound the drums of war, and I want to be there to say this is what it costs, this is what you’re asking us to do. . . . Families like mine are the ones that bleed first.”
Kirk was offered a chance to rebut. “I’d forgotten that your parents came all the way from Thailand to serve George Washington,” he said.
Duckworth’s mother, Lamai, is Thai, but her late father, Franklin, was a Marine veteran whose family roots in this country trace to before the American Revolution. Tammy Duckworth was severely wounded in the Iraq War, losing her legs while serving as a helicopter pilot.
The moderator moved on to the next question, but a panelist gave Duckworth time to respond by detailing her family history — including the fact that the Daughters of the American Revolution erected a statue of her in Mount Vernon, Ill.

Trump supporters in our community are getting desperate. After a sudden appearance of a large number of Clinton signs the local Trump organizer (a friend) went around and had as many supporters as she could to double up on signs, moving them from the center of yards to the property lines. This gives the appearance of support from two yards rather than one. Interesting strategy even if it opens home owners to fines. But they are winning iftalkto them. I mean look at the yard sign support!

So he's either lying (most likely), is broke/running out of money (also possible) or no one is donating at all.
Quote:
And there was scant evidence that the real estate billionaire will end up giving the $100 million he has repeatedly claimed he is donating to his bid. Trump gave his campaign about $31,000 in in-kind contributions in the first 19 days of the month — down from the $2 million a month in cash he had been donating. Trump’s total personal contributions to his campaign currently total a little more than $56 million.
