Ken is the model who keeps keeping his team alive by doing quite well in challenges of all natures.
Jay is the "third wheel" in the Figgy/Taylor romace, who keeps trying to warn his "bestest bro" Taylor that it's a bad idea.
Not seeing much about 'your' players is a good thing, means they tend to go farther in the game.

Wow, another idol for Dave. I thought for a second he was gonna another fast one and play the idol again.
Think he made the right call though by proving loyalty to Chris and Zeke.
I keep mistaking Michelle for Parvati whenever she appears. They look so alike.
And Michaela was such a star in this episode. Probably the strongest woman out there.
Taylor and Figgy need to be separated asap lol.

Michaela went full beast mode in that challenge. She could be a dominant dark horse post merge. It took longer than usual, but I'm actually invested in this season now.

3 way tribe splits can suck, but I like that this one almost immediately turned into a decent mixing. We saw the majority gen-xers vote out one of theirs, and I'm thinking Adam will be happy to turn on the majority millenials in his group. When they go back to 2 tribes, I think we are going to see a lot of pairs having to find votes. Should be good.
Looks like Hanah may have an issue in the next one. "don't let me die" or something...

I'm not a fan of mixing the tribes up this early, pushing the Gen X vs Millennials and scrapping it 5 episodes in seems silly.

I like it. Survivor is primarily an individual game. Leaving 2 tribes to whittle down, usually with a controlling group, and the outsiders getting eliminated is OK, but this is more interesting. It gives everyone a chance to play an individual game, instead of riding a 5 strong group to the finish. No one gets to feel really safe, and guys like Zeke, Adam, Chris, Ken, Jessica, Haanah...maybe others, get a real chance to control their game instead of floundering on the bottom.

With three tribes it certainly makes the merger a lot tougher to control

Just caught up on the last 2 episodes.
1) I think the Gen X team put Chris on the lift because he was heaviest and they wanted the others fresh to be able to pull him.
2) David is so pathetic out there he needs to go. It would come as no surprise if he has to be rescued during a challenge
3) Mikaela is awesome.
edit: I just checked who I picked, and i picked both my favorite player (Mikaela or however you spell it) and the player who I can't stand and want voted off each tribal. Fun.

It's funny because we judge these people on their absolute barest first impression. We see their picture, their job, sex, race and age. Then we pick. We have no idea their character until the show starts. Last season I picked Ghetto Belly. You just never know.

Oh, I also think David looks more and more like Quagmire of Family Guy as the game goes on. But maybe that's just me.

That is half the fun. You never really know what you are going to get when the season actually starts. You could end up 'cheering' for someone you never would, usually.

I get the feeling David feels like he needs to provide the plot points for this season, much like a tv writer. He speaks more in sound bytes which I find annoying. I'm hoping some of the well rounded players like Ken or Michaela go far this year.

Michaela's such a challenge beast. It's no coincidence that orange made a comeback once she started helping them too.
Glad purple lost...one of Taylor or Figgy needed to go. Maybe Taylor will be better now once focuses on the game.

Super awesome to see Adam make the right call. I could see those 3 going to the end.

Great episode today, imo.
I find it interesting to see all the Idols found this time around. Wonder if they are all going to be used or not. I was also amused that they couldn't figure out to crack it open...and then Michaela walks up on them at the perfect time.
I liked the reward challenge. I often like the "Blind Caller" style challenges. Shows some interesting teamwork, and that was a nice come from behind victory for orange.
I continue to wonder if Dave is trying to throw challenges, or he's just that useless in them.
Hannah's issue...at first, I was thinking, given how prevalent anxiety is these days, that it was a bit odd that Survivor's not had people having anxiety attacks every season/episode. But then I kinda got to thinking that it's not the sort of thing that would tend to attract someone prone to anxiety.
I'm getting to be more and more a fan of Micheala. She always kills it in challenges, and her snark is pretty on point, too. "There's 3 of you. If you can't figure out how to work together, you deserve to go home." I then had to explain to my wife why I was laughing so hard at the tv.
Kinda surprised that Fig/Taylor tried to go after Ken. You'd think that they would have gone after Jessica, to keep Ken's strength for challenges...though he did have a poor showing in the Immunity challenge they lost.
I think that Adam made the right choice. He was clearly on the bottom of the Millennial tribe which they were trying to keep as together as possible despite the tribal shakeup. Taylor didn't help that with his "Turn your back on us and you are done" bit, either. I'm thinking that picking Figgy was the best idea as she seemed to have a lot of pull among the other Millennials...but just couldn't keep her mouth shut. That blunder with her proclaiming her love for Michelle, for instance. It'll be interesting to see Taylor's game, now.
With Figgy out, Bootsy joins me on the bench.

Yeah I think that's the key - I see comments on Twitter of people that aren't a big fan of cockiness and what not, but is it really cockiness when she takes the challenge into her own hands and destroys the other two tribes by herself? Nope.

Great episode, this cast came to play and I am so grateful. I will say it again, there really are no passengers this season, and especially not at this point.
Adam made an incredibly smart move, as a super fan of the game I had a feeling he would do the smart thing but you just never know. Always easy for us to make that call from the couch! I think his mind was made up before tribal, but Taylor and Figgy's cocky attitude at tribal solidified it. They were essentially bullying him right there and if that wasn't a clear indication into how his relationship with the millennials was going to go then I don't know what else he needed. It wasn't hey make it through with us and we will look after you, it was hey we need to use you to get back to Michelle and Jay and basically be unstopable post merge. Good on Adam.
Micheala was a beast again, I loved how Brett hugged her and said "there isn't anything you can't do" but I did NOT enjoy her jumping down poor Hannah's throat. You want her to stop talking and work with you, I get it, but there is a nicer way to go about it. "Put feelings aside its survivor win don't give me that crap" I don't mean it in the sense of decency, I mean it in the sense of pissing people off. You walk around with that attitude and you put a target on your back.
Overall another great episode in a very good season.

Totally trivial but I always thought somebody placed the voting slips on an order to make it the most suspenseful in the tribes. After watching the voting clip and the actual reveal it would have been clear to ken with the last slip that he wasn't going home since his was the last to be read making it simply suspenseful for viewers. Has no bearing on the show but just thought it was a bit interesting it ended that way
