For the right price, by all means trade him. He's not a franchise player and likely won't be.

Although given age and the fact we are crappy this season, I would rather trade Gio. I think that contract is a future anchor.

But Hamilton is causing this year's disaster. His bad played was the sole direct reason the Flames missing the playoffs last season. His bad preseason was the cause of Hurricane Matthew. Dougie Hamilton single handedly destroyed the price of oil. He is such a bad hockey player Justin Schultz laughs at him. He caused Clinton's emails to be leaked. Hamilton caused the latest Mars robot to crash. Can't you all see how terrible he is!

I heard Hamilton baited Trump into talking to Billy Bush

Dennis Wideman says hello.

Dennis puts up good numbers but does that mean he is a good defenceman?

No the flames will keep losing if Mony/Johnny and the rest of the team doesn't show up and competes for 60 mins. Maybe step away from the keyboard for a bit hey.

How about actually talking about his value with his signed contract. Is he right now worth a mid 1st rounder and 2 2nd's? Does he have more value or way less? Would you do a straight swap for Jacob Trouba or Hampus Lindholm?

Please stop posting this pessimistic nonsense. This idea is absolutely foolish and totally reprehensible.

If we were offered a straight swap for trouba or lindholm we do that immediately

The hate he's getting is laughable.

"Worst dman in the league this season"....he's not even the worst dman on this team this year.

Gio and Brodie have both been worse - Brodie's struggles just get overlooked since he is the calgarypuck darling.

So sick of the same three posters (RoughRider, Alpine, and Ricadro) constantly ragging on Dougie. He's had two bad games in a row. We get it. You guys don't like him for insanely irrational reasons. We heard you the first twenty times. Quit ruining the FOI for us. No one agrees with you. Give it up.

Statements like "he's been the worst defenseman in the league by far" and "he has a horrible contract" reflect unbelievably poorly on your hockey knowledge. This isn't even a matter of having different opinions. If you had rational reasons for disliking Hamilton that would be different, but you don't.

And as a 22 year old, I resent you calling Dougie old. He's not even close to old.

It's stuff like this post that makes discussion go off the rails.... 90% means he would be in the top 21 defensemen in the league.... Not now, not at any time in the the past and maybe not ever.

Hamilton is 93rd in the league in TOI/game.... That puts him as the top of the #4 Dmen.

He may be a fast skater but he is slow to react and not quick. He may be big but he is not physical or at all sound defensively.

Before I thought that he just might not have been a favorite of Hartley... However we have a New coach, less depth on defense (Russell gone) and same limited amount of ice.

Right now Hamilton would have about the equivalent value of Darnell Nurse who is playing #5 minutes with the Oilers.... Right now if Nurse was on the Flames he would be getting more ice time than Hamilton.

He finishes out the year like he started and he will have negative trade value.

The problem here, I think, is that some people use worst and least favourite as synonyms.
I could say McDavid is my least favourite NHL player, but calling him the worst NHL player wouldn't make any sense. Just because you hate a player does not mean they are not good.
