The last Cubs World Series game was October 10, 1945, which was barely a month after Japan formally surrendered to end the Second World War.

Hopefully this goes 7 games.

Nothing like game 7 of a Championship game, even when your teams not in it it's exciting as all hell.

It's probably even better because as a fan you aren't stressed to maximum levels due to your emotional investment in your team.

This one would be especially nice because I don't really care who wins, and both teams haven't won it all in pretty much anyone who is alive's life time. It won't be like having to stomach the Yankees vs. the Giants or something along those lines.

I talked to a few Cubs fans today and they're really happy to be in the World Series win or lose. It's going to be a party at Wrigley (and at their house). The pennant was the painful hump they could never get over. Pressure might be more in the Indians who lost the World Series in 95 and 97.

I'd say the pressure is wholly on the Cubs. They had the best record and far more fans.

This survey shows the Cubs have 18.4 M fans compared to 4.2 M for Cleveland (the Jays are under-represented because the poll does not include Canada):

but it seems those 18.4M Cub fans are happy right now just to win a pennant.

No pressure at all on the Indians, LeBron ended the Cleveland drought which was the real pressure any Cleveland team has. Plus the Indians are playing a 6 inning game with that bullpen, so more pressure on the Cubs starters for sure. And no one thinks Cleveland will win as the Cubs are the pretty strong favorites. Indians in 6.

Kind of makes sense. Has to be close to 99% of Cubs fans have never seen their team play a WS game.

Default Kyle Schwarber Appears Likely To Be Activated For World Series

Quote:
The Cubs appear to have a fascinating new addition to their postseason run, as several reports suggest that slugger Kyle Schwarber is likely to be activated for the World Series after missing the vast majority of the season due to torn knee ligaments. “All signs” are that he’ll be activated, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweets, with Jon Heyman of Fan Rag later adding that Schwarber is expected to make his triumphant return “barring something unforeseen.”

That possibility has been known for several days, with its plausibility increasing as Schwarber gets his cuts in during Arizona Fall League action. Chicago has said it would utilize its narrow window to evaluate him and assess whether to place him on the World Series roster. It’s a high-stakes decision: the 23-year-old slugger may not be ready to play much (if at all) in the field, he can’t be replaced on the roster if he suffers an aggravation of his knee problem, and he hasn’t played much since the early-April outfield collision that ended his regular season.

What's the deal with the sports net broadcast? Not sure who's doing pbp but buck is doing colour. And just an mlb logo in the score tracker, so it looks kinda universal, not SN specific. Is it an international feed or something?

Edit: Wikipedia says it is indeed an international feed.
