The NHL doesn't give two ####s about this game. Rogers has been promoting the heck out of it though.

The NHL bought the game, and makes all the money off it. Of course it cares.
The league knows that Winnipeg specifically, and Canada generally, will eat this game up.

Hey this is just like the 80's. Messier should have gotten a tripping penalty, the refs missed as it, goes the other way and Messier scores.

Okay I know it's supposed to be a fun happy-time game and all, and as a Flames fan I hate both the Jets and the Oilers, but I have to say that, in my heart, it makes me happy that when talking about western Canadian NHL teams, nobody even bothers to mention the Canucks.
