I'm curious on the cost of Ride Please. I really like what Keys Please has to offer but its prohibitively expensive.

Their site says October 25: http://rideplease.net/

Not really. I mean, yes, it's twice as much as a cab, but you didn't have to take a cab to get there, right? I love keys please for going to a house party. Show up when I want, make a stop at the liquor store, got my gum and stuff in my truck, and then later, my truck comes home with me. Same price as cabbing it both ways, or maybe just a little cheaper.

Keys Please isn't that bad considering that they bring your car home. Ride Please should be much closer to taxi prices though because they only employ the single driver instead of the two driver system of Keys Please.

Happy to have Uber back. Used the Cab company app Friday night to book and reserve a cab and they would accept the booking. Then they would pick up a fare and cancel the booking leaving me stranded once more! Thanks Checker Cabs...
The reason cab companies are failing is the above.

Tappcar drivers are paid through the app as well. I'm sure like any other service there are bad experiences, but I've heard lots of positives as well as some negatives. They are still fairly new so you would hope most of the issues will be addressed. I like using their service because after talking to the driver they seem to be a very employee friendly company.

We can only hope.. Seriously why does a single cab company get to dictate traffic at the airport? I had to sit in a significant line up to pick up someone because Mayfair has some lacky forcing 15 cabs past everyone else.

Don't worry, soon Uber drivers will start doing that too. If your driver doesn't have the maximum amount of stars, this is probably why. Find another one. At least that mechanism is in place to help with this.

Just, as an aside, if you wanted to hire them to drive you home....do you have to be drunk?
I mean, I'm not always drunk, sometimes I just need a ride.
But if its part of the criteria, I think I could accommodate that.

That would be an achievement since there is little evidence to date that Uber realizes trust is a two-way street.
As far as Checker being blindsided goes, if they had simply followed this thread, they would have known all this is coming.

They drive you home in your vehicle, so it would be kind of weird to do that sober.

I want Uber to come to Calgary but I actually think that Ride Please will provide an Uber-like experience so I'll be happy with one or the other. I think that once the alternatives like Ride Please start operating it will become more difficult for Uber to enter the Calgary market.

Ride Please has already failed. Their app is awful, and the pricing is hilariously high.
