I don't think anyone can claim that Dougie looks right at this early point of the season. He looks like he did at the beginning of last season, but he got so much better as the year went on.
Because I have seen him play some great hockey in a Flames jersey, I assume he is getting accustomed to the new system in place, just like many of our other struggling players at this time.
Time will tell.

Because that is what happens to nearly every single D-man in the NHL.

People generally get better as they gain experience.
Its a thing.
Look it up.
Applies to almost EVERYTHING.

Yeah that is true for this year. But whereas guys like Brodie, Monahan and Gaudreau showed they are capable of more, Hamilton is still unknown to an extent.
But you are right, focus now has got to be the big guns playing to their capabilities.

For that reason, makes sense that Hamilton is a focal point. He has room to grow.

In that case, we are missing three threads:
The Woes of Johnny Gaudreau
The Woes of Sean Monahan
The Woes of Brian Elliott.
This thread doesn't need to exist if it exists solely because of the Flames record. Hamilton isn't the sole cause, or a key cause to the Flames slow start.

Well it's a stupid thread title and I agree with your sentiment. If Flames finish in the bottom of the league again, there will be alot of blame and Dougie would not be someone who should bear the brunt of that. But if this team finishes top 10 in the league, I am quite confident improved play from him will be a big reason.
So he's important in a way that has little to do with this horrible start.

So two mediocre games and a bad game are enough to erase a full season of great play from last year? Gimme break buddy.

The woes of Hamilton continue.
Anyone see him looking pathetic in front of the net on Buffalo's 2nd goal there ?

Bounces off him and in. Bang bang play. Are you really trying to blame the guy for that?

A post that stupid deserves to be ripped to shreds.
It's embarrassing.
Hamilton was in perfect position and had his man BOXED OUT.
It's not his fault the goalie directed the rebound right into him.
That is exactly where he should be standing in that spot.
Yet buddy has to come in here looking for someone to blame for what was just a bad bounce and bad luck.
That's why we can't have nice things, like 23 year old, 6 foot 5 inch, 40+ point Dmen.
