When you let Brian Gionta score on you twice you know you're awful.

What's that I hear? Is that the sound of the Oilers falling back down to earth?

It seems to me players who played in the World Cup and had the full training camp are a step ahead of every one else right now. That could be why Backlund and Frolik are looking really good at the moment. We will see how it plays out as the rest of the league gets up to game speed/shape.

Like the pbp said, "We've seen this with the Oilers, they have a little success and it's like they get a bit too happy with themselves."
Which is why they're still a long ways away. Players say it all the time, you can't get too high or too low. And I think they were so ecstatic to be on the winning end of a couple big games that the warts that were evident were almost completely overlooked. Basically blew their wads after 120 minutes of hockey then expected to cruise through a team like Buffalo where there is no rivalry factor playing in. But you have to put out of the same effort and execution each night, no matter the opponent..

Sure isn't the sound of any Oiler fans around here.

I loved watching that Buffalo-Edmonton game
Sure, we've seen that type of game from them for 10+ years, but it never gets old.

I guess the Flames gave them a false sense of security about how good they thought they were. Their defence is still not that good.

Not really. I wish Oiler fans that post here would show up when times are good and when times are bad. Pretty pathetic to only show up when your team wins a game. That is obvious trolling.
It's gutless. Oiler fans are gutless though so we shouldn't be surprised.

Oilers don't nearly look as good up against a team playing good hockey. Kind of highlights how bad the Flames are right now.

Oilers have pretty much just been the Oilers, Flames were not playing like the Flames in the first couple games. That's the difference. One team can only get better, whereas you can't really say the same for the other cause it's looking like the same song and dance from years passed up there just with a better top player.

1-0 Canes over the Nucks right now. Rask scores, old man Stempy with the assist.

He knows well what worked on Crosby, no wonder McDavid had almost nothing going on in the game.
