No threat of peril from me, you understand. I find many of the opinions posted on CP to be of value. The threat may come from unexpected sources...perhaps 'friends' that have been close to you for years.

Some threads here can form interesting debates, with complete and honest context about the team, the coaches, and hockey in general.

Others can prove to contain comedic gold among the serious thoughts.

In fact, some border on satirical genius, delivered so subtlety you might not even recognize it when it appears.

Please know that I consider all viewpoints as equally valid, until they are not.

Then the viewpoints are rendered valueless. They have no meaning at all, except to the original poster.

Except of course, if they share an Emma Stone gif. This is an exception to the rule. There may be others...

If an Emma Stone gif (or similar) is the only rule exception, why are many posters so happy to share otherwise empty thoughts or exhibit poor critical thinking skills?

It is a serious question.

As noted above, everyone should refer to the information in the link below before posting any opinion, anywhere on the Internet.

They provide to be solid life lessons as well.

Wow. Senseless, meandering, pointless drivel, dripping with narcissistic arrogance... that's a combo you don't see every day!

If that holds up to be true, then at least his contract expires this offseason and he's only eating up 2.5 mil until then.

But I also think it's far to premature to say anything yet. It's a long season and he has every chance to redeem himself.

You also warned us in December of 2014 when the Flames went on a huge losing streak that "the bubble had burst" and that the Flames "were going to be terrible for the rest of the season".

They then went on to make the 2nd round of the playoffs that season which was pretty much the exact opposite of what you were telling us, so don't be surprised if not to many people here give a #### what you warn us about.

You aren't nearly as smart as you seem to think you are.

I do not feel smug and superior at all, Dion.

Not at all.

There are many excellent posters here sharing nothing but their thoughts about hockey. The humour is often a welcome diversion.

But there is far more noise than humour, or thoughts about hockey.

I was simply trying to raise the level of discourse on CalgaryPuck.

It often gets so bogged down with "he said, she said" crap, and worse, that to read a viewpoint, articulately related, is really a breath of fresh air!

Is that so wrong?

Who doesn't want to share their passions with others and to learn from contrary viewpoints?

Does the fact that I choose the words that I am comfortable using in my everyday life lessen my contributions?

If that is the case, I may look elsewhere to share my love of hockey.

I suspect that others might share my passion for the sport and our team.

We will find out together.

I see a team right now still trying to figure out who they are. I see a lot of the bad habits from last year that need to be ironed out and they will with time. This is a very good hockey team and they will put it together. Growing pains guys.
