The argument that women aren't filing lawsuits en masse due to wage inequality, therefore that proves there is no wage inequality, doesn't make sense.
1. It takes time to file a lawsuit
2. It creates conflict with the employer - you can probably kiss your job goodbye and join the unemployment line
3. It's expensive
4. Employers are protected against lawsuits

Obama's first law was the Lilley Ledbetter act, worth reading up on if you're curious.

Are you saying because it was passed everything was fine? Or are you just letting people know about it?

I do, not perfect, but besides OBAMA, I really can't think of anyone present, or past dozen years, I'd rather have.

Just an FYI; it's a narrowly focused law.

Sorry I was away for a while, but I did pretty much mean it as I said it, in the same way that being anti-slavery is the only tolerable position.
I mean tolerable as in adequate or passable, not tolerable as in if it isn't tolerated it's forcibly suppressed by the government.

I adore FLOTUS but I would go ballistic if the US is ruled by 3 families for almost 50 years.
I would petition the UN to revoke their 'democracy' status, if that's a thing.

It also requires a single company to be doing the discriminatory act. An individual company may not be discriminatory but the market as a whole can be. It has been shown that end are hired preferentially even if through unconscious bias and as such on the whole women will be hired into the less preferred job (same with minorities). This does result in a wage gap. In addition, women are unproprortionately punished for parental leave or temporarily leaving the workforce. Yes that impacts future earnings and even when taken into account those family things it does not fully account for the wage disparity. Furthermore, women are often seen as less productive and in incentive based performance will receive less even if they did the same or more. It is very real.
Your list is also correct as to why things are often not pursued.
It is fair to say it has become more nuanced than the straight up systemic racism in law enforcement. And that it isn't nearly as bad as it was but there is still a discrepancy.

Well, to be fair, HILLARY and Michelle both married into the families, not quite a bush scenario.
But I hear what you're saying.

So let me get this straight. Kid at UofC gets strangled for wearing a hat that some people find offensive and the collective response is "meh".

For me Biden or Warren would have been better than Hillary amount the viable candidates.

Are you talking about the Mount Royal trump hat shouting match or something different?

Outside of Reddit, I don't see this being reported in the news. If true, it's vile.

Sure, Biden would have been great, but he didn't run. Warren.....maybe, I kind of like her in other capacities, like what she is already doing. Not sure of the POTUS, the GOP obstruction might be too much for her.

Warren belongs in the senate where she can be most effective.

I actually have not seen anything about that other than a Facebook post. And let's face it, that is a poor/extremely unreliable news source.

I think is about a kid getting heckled - was posted on CP - and it became an attack while echoing in 'the bubble.'
