Oh and he hasn't scored since 2011.
Why the hell did Gulutzan decide it was a good idea to use him then? I mean, I could understand the logic if he was an ex-shootout ace. So why the sudden surge in confidence?

It is deserved. Flames got shut out by a team most have pencilled on to be a lottery team. This new coach and treliving should bd getting nervous. Treliving has shown the ability to make moves on paper but the on ice product has been terrible (feaster deserves any credit for the playoff year).

As a flames fan I am worried about the core, the coaching hired, the gm ability to build a winner (a pto is the "planned" 1st line rw on the team).

Just to put some concern into the system.

The Flames play two easier teams Buffalo and Carolina next.

Then over the next 14 games we get this

St. Louis
Chicago
St. Louis
Ottawa
Washington
Chicago
San Jose
Los Angeles
Anaheim (in Anaheim)
Dallas
New York Rangers
Minnesota
Arizona
Chicago

Only 2 easier teams in that stretch.

Things don't change soon, this season will be over by the time it hits December, just like it did a year ago.

I can get why people are getting really upset, but historically it takes time to really adapt to a new system (see Hamilton from last year) so this really shouldn't be a surprise. At least we saw some positives on the defensive side of the game (Johnson included).

I'm really starting to think gg doesn't have a clue about any of the players on this team

I think everyone (myself included) needs to take a few steps back from the ledge. New system, new coach, and players look out of sorts. We iced a tired group tonight, but I definitely saw improvement from our first two games agains the Oilers especially among our D. Johnson was absolutely lights out. I think we'll be fine, just need to get our skating legs under us.

Say what you want about Hudler but this team misses him especially Monahan and Gaudreau. Nobody can make a clean pass it seems and Hudler was a great passer.

This team has barely had a full practice together...what is the point of making a trade. Knee-jerk reactions are never the answer

This IS Young Guns/All Our Every Shift déjà vu for me! We'll have a great minor league team full of guys who collapse the second they make the show.

All in all not a bad performance and Johnson played really well.

Johnny poor tonight though. Fluffed so many chances.

Need to just build on this point and move on. Johnny won't be as bad as this soon. D much improved though.

Given the use of Engelland, Wideman, and Grossman in the first game and the fact that he's barely had a few weeks with them...I think you have a strong case.

Early in the year at least. We can hope things get better.
