I have never seen a team have more trouble clearing the zone than the Flames. Year over year.

The two things I find concerning are the open breaks our system allows, and how ordinary our first line looks.
Johnson is doing a great job, but you don't win games by gifting free chances on the goalie and flubbing easy chances, and that has been our first line.

My god, I'm absolutely loving Jokipakka's game, to the point where I hope management takes a serious look at protecting him if he keeps this up. Last year he seemed pretty good, kind of a like a young guy that could fit in a top 4 role but needed more grooming.
This year he looks like a solid, real top 4 defender that would likely cost 4-5mil on the open market. What a trade that was, and if it wasn't for the horrible timing with the expansion draft we could celebrate such an amazing pick up.

Our breakouts are still terrible, zone entries are worse, and the personnel are way slower.
