Default How a Leaf fan destroyed his life

The Leaf comments are humourous . . . . . but the topic is deadly serious.

For all you gamblers out there.

Seriously though, Im glad he still has his sense of humour with him.

"Straight up," he says, "I'm scared about tomorrow." His future, he knows, must be mapped out. In the short term, another treatment centre awaits. Long range, he's trying to make a habit of attending Gamblers Anonymous meetings.

A particularly scary story, and one that's probably repeating itself hundreds of times over in the city. I found the one passage quite telling: he lost $10 000 on the Super Bowl in 1998, and then turned around the next day to try and win the money back on hockey betting.

Mike Richards was saying this morning that he talks in tomorrow's article.

From the title I thought the answer was he destroyed his life by becoming a Leafs fan.
Seriously though that is quite a story, especially the part when he had a job but decided to live homeless so that he could gamble more. Wow!
