Cant get over Marners goal. Its going to be really hard for me not to jump on the Leafs bandwagon even though I like the Sens. I've never been so excited about an NHL rookie who isnt on the Flames. Was really really hoping we'd draft the skillful bastard. Wouldnt be surprised at all if he ends up being the top offensive guy on that team. He screams Patrick Kane to me. Down to the nasty backhander he possesses. Totally fell in love with him during his draft year and the fact he was on Tkachuks line really made me question Tkachuk before the memorial cup. I think they both benefited from playing together. If Marner can be paired with another big nasty net front player who does all the things he cant/wont it would be great for him.

Some notes from Coaches Corner -
- Ron & Don said some 'uplifting' things about our coach (GG) . . Cherry said himself was 0-3 when he started and Rochester, and the headlines were trashing him. He said "don't worry, you will get them back, your a good coach"
- Ron then chimed in and said Pat Burns was 4-12 when he started the season in MTL, and told the media he would be done with the team in Dec. MTL ended up in the Cup finals that year.
- Cherry trashed the McDavid being named Captain so early . .he said he is a captain, but not this soon, seeing he has only played 47 games in the league

have the Habs-Sens game on and the announcers are talking about Dennis Wideman playing for Ottawa. After about two minutes they correct themselves - it's Chris Wideman for Ottawa. They had me hopeful for a minute there.
I pretended it was true, felt good.

A tight 2-1 game between the Panthers and Red Wings, where the play heavily favored the Panthers, has finally broken open late in the 3rd. Barkov scores on a turnover deep in the Wings zone forced by Jagr, and then Marchessault with the empty netter after a good defensive play in the neutral zone. 4-1 Panthers.
Jonathan Marchessault has picked up the play for the injured other Jonathan...Huberdeau. Marchessault now has 4 points in his 1st two games playing with Barkov and Jagr. I'd pick him up if I was a poolie.
