Last year Wideman was a healthy scratch as well, but he still sucked when he came back. No reason at all Wideman should see another game unless the Flames have a couple of injuries.

The storm has already been directly responsible for one death, that of a fifteen year old boy in Surrey.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the league was considering postponing this game.
If they do play tonight, think about what the Flames might have had to endure simply to get to Vancouver.
Think about how tired the Flames players and coaching staff might be while they play a rested team of professional athletes that are all good enough to be playing this great game of hockey at the NHL level.
I won't be surprised if our favourite team loses. Further, I won't be surprised if they lose big. Nor should any of you.
In fact, I think the team's play this year - of what is just a game - will have the fan forum moderators working overtime. In fact, I will boldly predict that the moderators will be much busier this year than any year since 2000 when CalgaryPuck first came into being.
Now might be a good time to consider making a donation to the site. The owners of the site, and the volunteer moderators who work only to keep all discourse civil, will appreciate it.
It is supposed to be fun for the owners...a hobby.
If a hobby becomes...not fun...for you, wouldn't you stop doing it? You would lose.
If this stops becoming fun for the owners, we all lose.
I made a donation this morning for the reasons stated above.
And if you are reading this, and it isn't too late, think about all of the above before posting the usual conspiracy theory tripe about bad refereeing and bad coaching after the game tonight, or any night.
If nothing else, think about that fifteen year old boy and his family while you watch or listen to the game.

As a Flames fan currently living in Vancouver through this weather, the above post is way over-exaggerated.
Yes, some trees have fallen on people's homes, and there are power outages here and there. It is very tragic that someone lost their life.
But there is no need to "worry for the safety of the general public". This is a more intense storm than normal, but people are still going about their business. We are nowhere near a crisis situation; and I would encourage concerned CPers to devote their thoughts to more serious situations in the world.

Hopefully they stay relatively healthy on the back end this year, even with injuries I'd want to see Wotherspoon or Culkin in over him if (when) injuries happen. You'd get the inevitable mistakes of youngsters, but at least they wouldn't get outworked every shift and it would be great experience in terms of their continued development.

Really hope there's no rust or nerves on Kulak.

I like that Gulutzan isn't afraid to pull players out of the line up that don't preform. That was definitely a weakness with Hartley. I think things start to click tonight.

Just another day around here, nothing special about this "storm" except for the extra hyper level of fear mongering from the incompetent and useless west coast media outlets.Have you even been outside in the last few days?(or months for that matter)...

I'll be honest I haven't seen much of anything storm wise. It's a little worse closer to the water but I have just seen rain. I've had worse without any sort of storm warnings.
Glad Wideman is sitting, he looks painfully slow out there. I think Kulak-Engelland will be a fine pairing

Happy to see Gulutzan continue to adjust the lineup.
I think he's feeling the early pressure though. The comments from Treliving about the team's play being "clunky" have been directed towards GG imo.

Storm is going to hit hardest late tonight apparently so. But yeah, for all the hype these three storms have gotten, they're kind of disappointing

Hope the lineup performs tonight. I'd like to see wideman and grossman both stapled to a pressbox chair for the rest of the year.
Its still crazy to me that grossman was signed. He isn't a huge impact player but I literally can not remember one play as bad by wotherspoon as the first goal against this year where grossman threw it right up the middle.

Someone go a shove a banana in in Wideman's tailpipe so he can't make it to the rink tonight!! GOGOGOGO
(Note: I don't actually advocate this. Well maybe 50%... 90%...Don't do this thing I just told you to do (do it))
