I'm not sure about that....The Oilers outside McDavid didn't look good either. Just had to pay attention to one player or atleast be able to keep up with his skating and we probably win at least one of the games if not both.

That game was pretty intense, really fun to watch. McDavid is just unreal, his speed with the puck is second to none never seeing anything like it. i thought the refs were in favor of Calgary tonight, imo it was pretty obvious but i can't argue since the Oilers got a couple calls in their favor in the 1st game.

Penalties... they kept putting their sticks in Eberle's skates...

I feel the same way right now. I try and keep calm most nights but that was embarrassing to say the least and unacceptable. I expect changes again tomorrow night,

At least they're in totally different situations. Hamilton is three years younger than J-Bo was when Bouwmeester signed with us. Hamilton's on a rebuilding team, whereas the 09-10 Flames were expected to make the playoffs (and failed). And he's making less money, so his contract isn't as much of an anchor.

None of which is to say that Hamilton has looked good at the start of either of his seasons in Calgary.

Wow so irritated to lose 2 in a row to the Oilers.

I was unimpressed with the Gulitzan hire but willing to give the Flames management the benefit of the doubt. But so far he looks like a terrible choice. Weak pre-season and training camp, strange roster decisions, and two horrible games. Say what you will about the Oilers and Leafs but they brought in elite coaches to help turn things around. We went with a mediocre re-tread and thats exactly what he looks like.

Elliott sucks.

Wrong its hockey night in Canada.

Every 5 minutes a commentator will whistle and talk about how much faster Conner is then the bunch of losers on the ice.

Then the first period they'll have a retrospective of Connor the early years, where they show photo after photo of his golden bowel movements.

Then the panel will spend 10 minutes crying about his cut tonight and how the Flames franchise needs to be suspended immediately.

Then in the second period we'll hear repeatedly after every good play, "My god that was Connoresque", or its MCsastional,

Then in the second period they'll have a movie review section where they look at movies and review them and then say how much better they would be if Connor directed them.

Then they'll redo the Canadian Tire commerical from the 70's with Albert, but they'll dub Connor for Albert.

Then as the game comes to a close someone will say Team X would have won if only they had a guy like Connor.

Then Don Cherry will come in and spend 20 minutes talking about that good Canadian Boy.

Then on after hours, they'll interview Connors teachers who will talk about who great of a student he was and how honored they were to take his virginity, then they'll have a cat fight over his picture.

The d don't have the stamina to play so far into the offensive zone. The d are so insanely active in the new system it creates chaos and havoc in 2/3 zones. I think Gulutzan is going to need to adapt to a new hybrid strategy with some trap elements so we leave a trailing d man. 5 breakaways is unacceptable.

#Flames finish with 60.2% possession tonight. Scoring chances 20-20, 17-13 for Calgary at ES.

Weak. Wideman handling the puck like a grenade and then slow as molasses trying to recover, just pathetic. Kulak in for Wideman tomorrow.

Haven't liked Versteeg on the first line yet either. Hasn't done much at all there.

And this is why I say that stats can be meaningless. The Flames were terrible tonight.

That's promising. Just need to clean up in the defensive zone, and stop giving up so many breakaways.

I don't get it. The Flames looked awesome in the second period in Edmonton. And completely dominated the first tonight. Why can't that level be sustained?
