Nakladal and Grossman are not comparable. At all.
The Flames wanted a big, physical LEFT shooting Dman.
The reason Nakladal isn't here is NOT because they signed Grossman.
It's because they had three right shooting NHL Dmen already under contract in Hamilton, Wideman and Engelland.
Not to mention Brodie plays on the right side a lot too.
Nakladal wasn't coming back unless they traded Engelland or Wideman.

I thought Right-handed shooting D-Men were in high demand? The Flames, for the longest time, wanted right handed shots on the point and couldn't find anyone. We currently have Wideman, who has a good shot, but doesn't use it. Nakladal, from last season, had a pretty good shot from the point and he's a fairly good sized D-man who can hit and pass out of the zone. I'm extremely PO'd about having Nakladal not being signed as a Flames. It's a WTF moment when it's only $25G difference, but the skill level is the main difference.
